Turning the other cheek is hard for me.

Well, let me be honest. If this had been something that happened to my children, I would be extremely hard pressed to forgive. It’s much easier for me to wax philosophical when it did not affect me directly. It took me a while to forgive my ex-wife, but that experience (20 years ago) did make it much easier for me to forgive.

I’ll give you a pair of lop shears and a blow torch.

My anger is reserved for the actions rather than the person performing them. I truly hate the sin people perform. I feel sadness for the people performing the sin.

That's why I like the cartoon. The man is dispassionately eliminating a clear and present danger. No anger, just takin' out the trash.

There was a time when he would have been taken care of.

That day may yet come...in a quiet out-of-the way corner of the exercise yard.

an you be angry at a bear for attacking? The bear is just doing what bears do. Same with this beast.

“Well, if your religion means you can’t feel anger towards some sub-human who beats a child to death, I’m glad I don’t share it.”

Can’t feel anger? Of course Christians can, and do. Did not Christ throw out those selling inside the Temple? If I had seen this crime in action... my response would have been swift, brutal and without hesitation until the situation was controlled...

However, responding with a beating, torture, etc. after the fact would be wrong indeed. Now hopefully the courts will deal out justice in this case.

What Christians recognize is that our sin is the same in God’s eyes. Have you ever lied? Have you been with a man/woman outside of marriage? Have you taken something that wasn’t yours? - So then why would God let a liar, adulterer or thief into heaven? When it comes down to perfection... we all fail that test. The good news is, Jesus died on the cross for all sins, as He never sinned. Three days later, He lived again. All that believe on Him shall be saved, as this was God’s sacrifice for us.

I never suggested such things, however.

And, to whoever made the analogy to an animal, it doesn’t hold up. We don’t put bears on trial when they kill someone because they are not humans, so I suggest we don’t let humans off the hook because they’re not bears.

Correct. I never said you did either. I was just pointing out that there is a line, that’s all. Sorry if it came across the other way. Not the intention ;)

Normally I don’t believe in torture... but if this excuse for a man was tortured before being put to death, I’d be OK with that...

That is actually how I see the fate of the lost as well. When you see it that way, John 3:16 and Romans 6:23 are clear as glass.

“It would be interesting to determine what in his upbringing...”

Not for me, I don’t have time to waste on such creatures! Run him down the chute; Mr. Bolt, meet Mr. Forehead; send down the next one. Easy as that!

“Why can’t he just be killed today?”

Too many lawyers in the breadlines would be my guess. /s

Exactly. Years into the future this era may be remembered as the era of boyfriend abuse. Sperm donors get flamed, but they seldom abuse their children. The numbers don’t lie. Children thrust into broken homes often experience multiple attacks by more than one man. Out of wedlock births are a societal evil that cannot be justified at any level. Point to a good one and your are promoting a thousand bad ones. Dan Quayle was right.

There are stepdad who are great. ConservaTeen is not my flesh, but he is mine. My Cousin became a dad when he married. Of course, we were bought up to treat females and kids like the way we want to be treated. We aren’t threaten by other people’s kids.

Children are harmed more frequently when in the home of a single mother without bio dad in the home. Statistical fact. All children is such living conditions should be periodically monitored to ensure their safety.

That was my fear, I always asked her and tried to get her to go on some dates but she always had an excuse/reason why she couldn’t. Fortunately she did spend a lot of time with her twin sister and other family members. We would often go places too but that doesn’t take the place of a partner. She was a beautiful, brilliant woman who deserved a lot better than my father. She passed away over 20 years ago and I miss her more every day.
