Been to Maine a couple of times. Just this summer for almost two weeks was the last visit. Love it. So many great places. Was up there seven years ago at the start of October and I understood that there are people that live there in the winter. All in those ramshackle houses that look like the builders never knew that winter was coming.
Are you guys all crazy? I suppose you can blame it on severe cold cutting off blood circulation.
And a Happy New Year back at you. I am about 3 miles east of Gretna so we aren’t so far apart. Man it was a cold one this morning!
Just starting another pot of coffee and settling in to watch UCF which I am guessing might be happening at your house as well. Go Coach Frost! Get that unbeaten season!
Well yeah. They're called "residents".
Are you guys all crazy?
They don't call em "Maniacs" for nothing.
Actually it's a pretty high poverty state, most industry was driven out by the RATs, so we have low income jobs, plenty of welfare parasites including Somalians, and then, the ultra-rich (most of whom get the hell out during Winter)
A lot of us work for the rich, as it should be, repairing and keeping an eye on their estates in their absence.
Ha....mead indeed. Be brewed quite a bit over the years, but never made mead. The one advantage we had of the absconded hive was we were able to harvest a lot of honey. Ill have to think about making some mead
Buddies and I surfed from Huntington Beach...south to K-55 in Baja..!!
Went to Baja..at least twice a year...Had a lot of fun..!!
There are a lot of areas with two entirely different economies depending on the season. It really makes one creative to get good reliable income year after year.
This year I really enjoyed Bath, Georgetown on the Kennebec and Boothbay Harbor.
Aaaaww. I love him already! Pic?
I lived off of 321 for years.
I took a small boat out into the channel for many mornings at 6AM. We had lakefront.
That Dam on the Tellico did not exist. Nor did 321 into Blount County.
They have funding to build a bridge over the road at the DQ.
I will contact you when I move back. Happy New Year!
“I will contact you when I move back.”
Sounds good. It’ll be nice to have fellow FReepers in the area. Improving the neighborhood. :) I didn’t know you’d lived here before — the reason I offered to help if necessary.
It's called "The Two Maines".
Yeah. We’re close.
Glad Frost got that win today!
32° F here in Ogden, UT. Supposed to get into the teens tonight.
Me too! I think if we get to see that type of football on a weekly basis that the future will be very enjoyable.
I was sure pulling for the Sooners to win that game. It was not to be, though.
I wish it would get into the teens here.
