(CNN)At 8 p.m. Thursday, after a third straight day of golf at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and the temperature was 72 degrees, President Donald Trump tweeted this:
"In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year's Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!"
The "logic" at work here is simple: How can climate change, aka global warming, be real if it is so cold outside?

Jim Inhofe (R) to bring a snowball onto the Senate floor in late February 2015 as a supposed counterweight to claims of global warming. "In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I asked the chair, do you know what this is? It's a snowball just from outside here. So it's very, very cold out. Very unseasonable."

It has been often said that the "science is settled" on the issue of CO2 and climate. Let me put this claim to rest with a simple one-letter proof that it is false.
The letter is s, the one that changes model into models. If the science were settled, there would be precisely one model, and it would be in agreement with measurements.
Alternatively, one may ask which one of the twenty-some models settled the science so that all the rest could be discarded along with the research funds that have kept those models alive.
We can take this further. Not a single climate model predicted the current cooling phase. If the science were settled, the model (singular) would have predicted it.

Yes. Of course, one season doesn’t make a “climate”, but we have had ten years or so of mild winters here in Chitown, and all of these have been taken as evidence of “climate change”. Now the cold returns with a vengeance ... so, I guess we’ll see!
... We’ve hit subzero for the first time in a while, and even double digit sub zero! Well, it didn’t set a record, in my recollection, but it’s been cold! Lasted a while, too.

Dear Chris: If Donald Trump knows or doesn’t know the difference between climate and weather, it would not change the theory of climate change from BS into truth.
