GOP hopes Alabama loss is wakeup call for Trump White House
Associated Press ^ | Dec 13, 2017 8:01 PM EST | Zeke Miller

President Donald Trump managed to endorse two different losing candidates in the same Senate race, a setback that is highlighting an experience deficit within the White House political team. […]

Republicans in Washington and around the country say a bungled approach to the race — in which the president wagered his party’s moral authority with nothing to show for it — should serve as a wakeup call for the administration going into what is sure to be a challenging midterm election year.

“This White House is not working on all cylinders,” said Ari Fleischer, who served as press secretary to former President George W. Bush. …

I support Trump but he was wrong to support Strange. I honestly don’t know why some freepers consider Strange to be a good man. He’s a crook and a swamp dweller.

Strange would have lost to Jones in a landslide. I know that I would have never voted for Strange.

If I posted my personal opinion of Shelby, I would be banned from FR.

So are you saying that only Rino’s are electable? McConnel will be happy to hear that!

Nope. The establishment RINO lost in Virginia.

I do understand that some of you don’t like protestant Christians and will give the benefit of the doubt to any accuser.

It isn't protestant Christians that are the problem. It's these "fire 'n brimstone!" holy rollers that Lose. Every. Time.

Want to win? Let's run more candidates like Trump! He didn't campaign on a platform of Bible verses. He campaigned on MAGA! On building a wall! On bringing back jobs!

No establishment lickspittles! No fringe, Bible-screeching, gun-waving, old man creeper nutjobs!

When the fire n' brimstone "God punished America on 9/11 because homos!" is shunned even in Alabama, it means it's time for them to go away.

Put down the crack pipe. 650,000 Trump voters didn't vote for Moore. Strange could not have conceivably done worse.

I think the GOP would do better considering a betrayed constituency.

Ummm...I live in Alabama. I believe I know the state better than you.

Obviously, you know NOTHING about Strange and his shady deal with the disgraced Then-Governor Bentley and just how Strange obtained his Senate seat.

But maybe you don’t care. The more you post, the more you sound like an establishment cuck. You also sound quite immature.

I assume you are a fan of McConnell, McCain, Ryan and company? After all, Strange is a Swamp Dweller just like them.

Ironic - Trump didn’t have his choice in the race so now it’s his fault? The spin machines are generating full centrifugal force...

I don't know if I'd brag about that right now but since you're such an authority on Alabama voters, let me ask you this? How is it that Alabama managed to field a Republican candidate that was so loathsome, they couldn't even come out and vote for him?

You do understand losing Session's seat is a pretty big deal. This was considered perhaps the safest Senate seat in the country. So safe, in fact, that Sessions ran unopposed in 2014! And still got 150,000 more votes than Roy Moore did!

Please put the adults in charge next time around. The country begs of you.

Yep. The talking points now are that Trump and Moore were best buddies, attached at the hip, went everywhere together! I clicked over to CNN yesterday and heard Anderson Cooper say with a straight face that the president "enthusiastically endorsed" Roy Moore.

Trump loathed Roy Moore from the beginning and everyone knows it. His enthusiastic endorsement consisted of little more than (paraphrased), "Send Roy Moore to the Senate. We need his vote on tax reform."

Yep - how quick they forget that Trump came out strong for Strange because he was suitable and would have won easily.

Many of us who endorsed Moore in the Primaries (I'm one who "knew better than Trump" in that regards) never considered that Moore was almost a sideshow attraction who had barely won his earlier positions and who might be considered as lawless - things Trump knew instinctively.

Why don’t you complain to your hero, Bitch McConnell? He was largely responsible for working against the best candidate, Mo Brooks.

Your posts are very “swamplike”.
