Donald J. Trump‏ Verified account @realDonaldTrump Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!

Moore was the worst candidate ever , not because of the accusations , but because he was a crappy candidate ... a semi-skilled operation could have weathered this ... Bannon should have vetted Moore better ...

Unless there’s a recount, the people of Alabama have spoken and it’s time to move on. The GOP still has a majority in the Senate, and they should be answerable if they don’t deliver for conservatives.

So does this mean Al Frankin has to resign for real now ?

Maybe Mitch McConnell can work on the damn budget now that he doesn't have to figure out how to not seat Roy Moore.

No, it was Richard Shelby. The Senior Senator from Alabama and his media blitz last weekend that mortally wounded Roy Moore.

If Moore had answered Hannity's question with a stern, authoritative "NO!" he would've squashed the allegations. Instead, he hemmed and hawed just enough for voters to consider the allegations against him might be true. At that point. Democrats pounced and flooded the state with money. Moore never recovered.

Over half of the 1.3 million Alabamans who voted for Trump last year stayed home today. Jones by contrast rallied 90% of Hillary's voters to the polls.

With jones’s victory, Trump’s agenda may be stalled until 2018. Trump may as well take a break for a few months and then return for the 2018 elections to support MAGA candidates. And when they win, Trump can return to implementing the MAGA agenda.

LoL you”re not serious, sounds just like what the Dem,s would advise him to do.

Agree. Strong suspicion that Trump was aware of Moore’s vulnerability in the primary, thus his support for Luther. He has incredible sources of information and has been gathering it for a long time. One of them is Jeff Sessions, who would be in a perfect position to know.

There is no basis to believe that Jones will act like anything other than what he is: A hard line leftist.

You mean three ‘3’ years. Not two. 18,19, & 20.

And congratulations to Mitch McConnell.

He won the first year of the Trump Administration.

The only Trump legislative achievement will be the tax cuts, which was the one thing on the Trump agenda the GOPe donors wanted.

And a huge accomplishment if passed and it does away with mandate. If it fails, Trump should resign. Let Pence take over. Remember the 48 R and 4 Rinos in the Senate.

Yep. President Trump really ought to be congratulating Mitch McConnell for a job well done in keeping Moore out.
