Erdogan calls Islamic summit next week on Jerusalem

Turkey currently holds the chairmanship of the OIC. The recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and the moving of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem -- expected to be announced by President Donald Trump later Wednesday -- would be a "grave mistake" against international agreements, Kalin warned.

"Jerusalem is our honour, Jerusalem is our common cause, Jerusalem is our red line," he added, urging the Trump administration to "return from this grave mistake immediately".

Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said the expected US move risked igniting a "fire" in the Middle East and will prove a "great disaster".

The recognition will "throw the region and the world into a fire and it's not known when it will end", Bozdag, also government spokesman, wrote on Twitter. Bozdag said such a step which showed "great intolerance and mindlessness" would "destroy the peace process".

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told reporters in Brussels ahead of meeting US counterpart Rex Tillerson that the move is a "mistake" that "will not bring stability and peace but rather chaos and instability."

...

Erdogan had warned Tuesday that the status of Jerusalem is a "red line" for Muslims and could even prompt Turkey to cut ties with Israel.

The Turkish leader -- who regards himself as a champion of the Palestinian cause -- is due to hold talks later in Ankara with Jordanian King Abdullah II who is also a strong opponent of the move.

Last year, Turkey and Israel ended a rift triggered by Israel's deadly storming in 2010 of a Gaza-bound ship that left 10 Turkish activists dead and led to a downgrading of diplomatic ties.

The two sides have since stepped up cooperation in particular in energy but Erdogan is still often bitterly critical of Israeli policy.

I realize this is a reckless post, but maybe they just need to go to war with us and as we defeat their countries they must be forced to abandon Islam and allow other religions in. These are the most oppressive religious societies on earth, they do nothing but cause problems, every single one of them was converted through conquest, and while they are welcomed worldwide they do not allow other religions in their countries. The last thing we need is an Islamic world to screw up what’s left of liberty and reason on this globe.

IOW, you want to fight everyone over all your demands, ok, let’s go.

And btw get back to me when Turkey returns their conquest of the great church Hagia Sophia which they converted to a mosque after slaughtering the Christians who sought safety there.

What is it about Islam and Muslims that causes their constant urge for blood and murder?

Their "holy" book. It's a blueprint for murder.

Let's get this straight... up until now, the Middle East *hasn't been* on fire that never ends, hasn't been a great disaster, has had stability and peace and been clear of chaos and instability? Yeah, that's what I thought you said. Welcome to the peace process, a-holes!

For decades, the rest of the world did not recognize that Jerusalem was Israel’s capital. This was done because in the Islamic world, Israel is a Crusader state and the “occupation” is only temporary. Islam will not allow one of it’s holy sites to be infidel hands.

Trump just gave the islamic world the finger. By saying the Israel’s capital is Jerusalem, he is saying that Israel’s claims are valid. He is also saying that it isn’t occupied territory, but Israeli territory. That will result in attacks, riots, and possibly war.

All of which were going happen, Trump just might have arraigned it to happen sooner.

So, Turkish tyrant, how many “Palestinians” have you taken in as refugees over the last, oh, sixty years?

Turks hate Arabs, they want to rule over them.
