House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi likes to describe the GOP tax reform legislation as the #GOPTaxScam.
The #GOPTaxScam is one of the worst bills to be brought to the floor in the history of the United States. We will fight with everything we have to stop this bill from becoming the law of the land.— Nancy Pelosi (@NancyPelosi) December 4, 2017
Yet, she took it several steps further Monday, calling the Republican plan “the end of the world," according to Fox News reporter Chad Pergram.
"This is Armageddon,” she added.
She quickly walked it back.
Pelosi tries to clean up her apocalyptic proclamation that the tax bill is “Armageddon.”: The only reason it isn’t the end of the world is that America is a great country— Chad Pergram (@ChadPergram) December 4, 2017
Guy inserted some common sense.
END OF THE WORLD ARMAGEDDON KILLING THOUSANDS!!!1!!1!
This is about a tax bill. The hyperbole is comical.— Guy Benson (@guypbenson) December 5, 2017
Despite her apoplectic episode over the GOP's tax plan, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accepted President Trump's invitation to discuss the budget this Thursday to try and agree on a spending bill, a day before the government is set to run out of money.
She and Schumer rejected the first invitation after Trump cast doubt on any potential progress with a tweet that criticized the Democrats' agenda.
The House and Senate have passed separate versions of their tax reform plans. GOP Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy shared on Twitter his hope that the two chambers can reconcile those differences and get it to Trump's desk before Christmas.
Before we can put a final bill on @POTUS desk, the House and Senate have to sit down, hash out the few differences between our bills, and come to a unified consensus. Once we do, the American people will spend next yr w/ more $ in their pockets and an even brighter future ahead.— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) December 5, 2017
Embrace the suck, woman.
...Pelosi Calls Tax Bill ‘Armageddon’...
For Democrats, yes.
Indeed
I hope it is the end of the world for her and many other Democrats.
We’ll have to pass it to see what’s in it.
It cannot be as bad as Obamacare!
Buck up Nan.
I don’t get it. All the Evil Rich will end up paying more Money to the United States Treasury just like Democrats always demand they do.
Instead of being able to lower their Federal AGI by Deducting State Income Taxes (up to 13.2% in CA as an example), they will now be paying Taxes on the additional 13.2% of their Top Bracket Income to the Federal Government.
But Nancy, you said that stuff like this needs to be passed before it’s opened to see what’s in it, right? Turnabout is fair play Tootsie, and payback is a bitch!
Chuck and Nancy=Chancy!
They used to mock conservatives for thinking in black and white.
Liberals were so proud of seeing subtle nuances
Apparently, that is not important anymore. They are now the Party of Hyperbole.
I hope someone is cataloging all of those statements.
Everything to Democrats is some sort of end of the world. The hyperbole is absurd.
Who would have thought that resetting marginal tax rates and makes some tweaks would somehow be an end of life as we know it scenario???
Look on the Bright Side!
It’s Democrats that are jonesin’ to meet their Maker, LOL!
Win/Win!
MAGA! :)
From her perspective it is Armageddon, because if it passes and the economy booms, Trump gets reelected in a landslide, more Pubbies get in, and the Leftist dream of a servile America goes away for at least a generation.
why doesn’t ryan hit her over the head with that large gavel she paraded around with when Obamacare was passed.
For her leftist scumbag/douchebag partisans, it is. Voters who work for a living are going to notice a definite change in 2018, which happens to be an election year. Thanks Kaslin.
She spent trillion of OPM and smiled the whole time.
