....so far as we’re aware.
Should be fired.
Yeah, it’s just business as usual for them isn’t it?
ABC is Disney.
EPSN is Disney.
NBC is Comcast
MSNBC is Comcast.
CNN is now AT&T.
Big LIKE! on the crocodile tears remark. WJC, HRC, BHO.
Yup, that was ole Brian Ross. It's hard to find information about this on the internet, but there are bits and pieces if you look.
Dateline wasnt NBCs first news magazine: First Tuesday, Chronolog, First Tuesday (again), NBC Presents a Special Edition, Weekend, Prime Time Sunday, Prime Time Saturday, NBC Magazine with David Brinkley, NBC Magazine, Monitor, First Camera, Summer Sunday, USA, American Almanac, 1986, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Real Life with Jane Pauley and Expose all preceded it. But it was NBCs first successful news magazine. Yet it came very close to cancellation just after its debut. In 1992 the program featured a report about GM pickup trucks carrying exploding fuel tanks. Datelines credibility was nearly destroyed when it was later revealed that the exploding fuel tanks shown in the report exploded only because they were rigged with explosives. Various people involved in the story were fired (including correspondent Brian Ross, who went to ABC and rebounded well career wise). Dateline survived and is, of course, still on the air today. This is the original theme used for the shows first two years.

And this too, but it doesn't name Brian Ross.

I lost around $250 but it also crippled the future earning power of my 401k. I’ll join a class-action against ABC/Didney just to see them suffer.
I remember when the hit piece came out about the Chevy pickup trucks. That really opened my eyes to fake news. I did not know that Ross was involved.
Eventually their missteps will have a real impact on them - was only a matter of time before this happened and now they have to try to pretend to be journalists for a while...bet their anger forces more mistakes like this....
I went to UToob and watched the Dateline video from 1992. In the “lead-up” shot, I wondered, ‘Is that Brian Ross in the sweater vest talking to the technicians?’. He bears a resemblance.
If it is, someone should grab a screen shot and send it to Rush/Hannity/Drudge.
Looking at the bigger picture, NBC was owned at the time by GE, which, via its Delco division, was a supplier to GM.
GM was particularly displeased that one of their suppliers was trying to destroy them.
Kinda like the NFL players, wasn't it?
They are upset that they got caught in #FakeNews. Again. If they were professional, they would not allow their personal biases to affect their reporting, and this would stop happening.
I would love to see that happen. It’s about time that our laws had some teeth in them and were used the way they were intended (and not to persecute political enemies). I’m tired of seeing only conservatives prosecuted for crimes while liberals are immune.
UnKindred hearts...and exogamy.
ABC News Is Reeling From Brian Rosss Botched Report!
If you want to really make Disney/ABC reel, do the following.
1. Cut your cable and go to the internet for your tv.
2. Enroll in Sling Blue as your tv provider.
Sling Blue does not carry Disney/ABC or ESPN.
So, they will not be able siphon off a lot of money each month from your cable bill.
