I think there could be more to this than meets the eye. The President may know more than he is letting on with his lawsuit tweet. If Ross or anyone close to him at the network made market plays before he broke this fraudulent story they are in big trouble and they know it.
Ross’ four weeks without pay has probably been compensated many times over by Soros or some similar deep state power.
"A clarification tonight on something one of Flynn's confidants told us and we reported earlier today," Ross said on the program. "He said the president had asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. He's now clarifying that saying, according to Flynn, candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other world hot spots. And then after the election, the president-elect asked him to contact Russia on issues including working together to fight ISIS."
And still, they downplayed the exonerating nature of the correction like it was just a minor technicality.
Not that ABC has much of a reputation to save, but Ross needs to be fired.

Aside from the fact they got caught, if I worked there I’d be shocked and upset that my employer could be sued into oblivion over this stunt, and I’d be bailing ASAP.

Higher ups are probably angry. While the media believes their audience is dumb, making this assertion as though it were fact was just too obvious. This wild lie would’ve required everyone to be complete morons and assumed nobody would read the facts.
It’s one of those, “while they might be stupid, they’re not THAT stupid”. Still arrogant. Still pathetic liars, but some recognize this was over the top and actually hurts them when they have some other lie they want people to believe. Their credibility is already causing them pain, this just made it worse. THAT is what they’re really mad about.
