I understand almost all of the property in Israel (and presumably Jerusalem as well) is state-owned, isn’t it?

When I visit someone's home, I'm pretty sure they think it's theirs. You can't just go in there and take over, so they must have someone to appeal to if you try.

Also I get ads all the time to buy property over there. Maybe there's some legal fiction that the govt really owns it, but that's all it would be.
