I was at a restaurant waiting to pick up a meal to go. The news was on the TV with most people ignoring it. Until the news about this guy getting off. Almost everybody was looking at the TV, with several shaking their heads, and staring in rapt attention as the father spoke.
This is in a very liberal area - perhaps a larger, broader justice will be served in the end. (Kate’s Wall).
You can see the wincing in the background and it breaks your heart.

What would I do if that happened to my daughter? I know for a fact I wouldn’t be as calm as this good man. You are a better man than I sir.......
They can put this guy in prison for many years on immigration violations.

As the father of an adult daughter, this both crushes and enrages me. That poor family.
Her parents made it clear they didn’t want a law named after her because they don’t oppose sanctuary cities.
