On Friday, Michael Flynn plead guilty to lying to FBI agents about making contact with Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the transition period.
CNBC reported:
Specifically, Flynn is accused of falsely claiming that he had not asked Russia’s ambassador to the United States last Dec. 29 “to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day.”
Flynn also allegedly lied by telling the FBI “he did not recall the Russian Ambassador subsequently telling him that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request,” the information says.
Moments ago, President Trump’s attorney, Ty Cobb issued the following statement:
“Today, Michael Flynn, a former National Security Advisor at the White House for 25 days during the Trump Administration, and a former Obama administration official, entered a guilty plea to a single count of making a false statement to the FBI.
“The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year. Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn. The conclusion of this phase of the Special Counsel’s work demonstrates again that the Special Counsel is moving with all deliberate speed and clears the way for a prompt and reasonable conclusion.”

I’m a little concerned about what that rabid dog Weissmann of Enron/Arthur Andersen fame working for Mueller might convince General Flynn to say to save his son.
You guys are missing the point right along with the MSM if you think that the December lies to the FBI are what they are aiming at. That is what his guilty plea is based on only. Flynn was an advisor months before during the campaign, attended security briefings at the White House with Trump and we will find out in due time what kind of notions that Mueller’s team has convinced General Flynn to say, whether true or not.
Surprise, surprise, surprise.
Obama went to Germany before the 2008 election and met with Chancellor Merkel and the German foreign secretary. Doesn’t matter when Flynn contacted the Russians.

All this worry about Logan Act violations needs to stop. Candidate Obama contacted the German government in 2008. What kind of contact? He friggin flew to Germany and had private meetings with Chancellor Merkel and the foreign minister. And gave a big campaign speech in Berlin!
