Swedish Church OKs Gender-Neutral Worship, Neuters Holy Father

Antje Jackelén, Bishop of Lund and head of Sweden’s Church, now says that God the Holy Father may be worshiped in a gender neutral way. This means that pastors are no longer obliged to pray “in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” but can substitute the classical liturgical incantation for something like “in the name of God, the Trinity”.

Likewise, pastors and other politically correct worshipers may replace pronoun references to the Holy Father with “hen”, a gender neutral Swedish pronoun. This would be somewhat akin to translate the English Bible to say “and It/They said let there be light” etc.

One of Martin Luther's main prongs of grievance with the Catholic Church was that it claimed that Church teachings & doctrine carried divine authority—the word of man was equal to the word of God.

The Pope was equal with St Peter. The teachings of St. Augustine were on par with those of St. Paul.

For Luther this was unacceptable: Scripture was the source of divine authority & theological truth. This is one of the main reasons Luther had irreconcilable differences with the Catholic hierarchy (in addition to indulgences, corruption etc.).

Nearly 1500 years later his Church lives on in name only—Scriptural supremacy has been abandoned in Sweden entirely. The Swedish Church is literally run by heretics at this point.

God has no gender, but humans speak with gender. The texts in the original languages used HE for God. There is no reason for changing it. This is just a way to subjugate Christianity to liberalism.

I suspect it is not heretics but atheists who run the Church of Sweden.

He chose to reveal himself as the Father, and Jesus spoke of him that way. No need to change it.

Whelp, now their baptisms will be totally invalid.

It is Lutheran in name only. Martin Luther would be pounding theses on their door as well.

“Just the sign of the “end times”.”

I wonder if the races that created our civilized countries will eventually have their fill of “diversity” and get going on an “end time” for the diverse ones.

Yes, he revealed himself as the father! Indisputable.

One of Martin Luther's main prongs of grievance

Your view of church history is ... not quite right.

For example:

The teachings of St. Augustine were on par with those of St. Paul.

No Catholic claimed this in Luther's time, nor does any Catholic claim this today.

(And Luther would tell you he was more true to Augustine's teachings anyway!)

Could be said that’s happening in the US as well...

Jesus certainly talked about his Father quite a lot. He instructed us to pray, Our Father.
