A profile in The Times of Tony Hovater, a white nationalist and Nazi sympathizer in Ohio, elicited a huge amount of feedback this weekend, most of it sharply critical. Heres how the piece came about, why we wrote it and why we think it was important to do so.
The genesis of the story was the aftermath of the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., in August, the terrifying Ku Klux Klan-like images of young white men carrying tiki torches and shouting Jews will not replace us, and the subsequent violence that included the killing of a woman, Heather D. Heyer.
Who were those people? We assigned Richard Fausset, one of our smartest thinkers and best writers, to profile one of the far-right foot soldiers at the rally. We ended up settling on Mr. Hovater, who, it turned out, was a few years older than another Ohio man, James Alex Fields Jr., who was charged with murder after the authorities said he drove his car into a crowd of protesters, killing Ms. Heyer.

Liberals, democrats, progressives and socialists normalize baby killers, men who rape women, men who sexually abuse women, men who have been part of the kkk,men who kill women and now we find they normalize democrat men in congress who sexually abuses women as long as they help the progressive agenda....NYTimes help normalize these scum

One of the biggest lies the left ever managed to pull off: characterizing National SOCIALISTS aka Nazis as the right (aka Republican or Constitutionalist) instead of the left (aka Democrat, socialist, and most so-called journalists esp at rags such as the NYSlimes, Washington ComPost, etc.)
The Slime’s objective is not impartial journalism, truth. Its objective is its agenda, a leftist one, devoid of truth.
The Slimes have been an arm of the CPUSA for near a Century.
” ... the subsequent violence that included the killing of a woman, Heather D. Heyer.”
Huh? They make it sound like she was lynched.
Miss Heyer was morbidly obese. It took four men to lift her stretcher. The car never touched her. She died from a heart attack just waiting to happen.
The Slimes is lying again. If they want to see Klansmen they can hold up a picture of Democrats and look in a mirror.
Excellent point that I didn’t see in any of the comments on the article. I didn’t have any such expectation but some of the comments swerved into reality.
Bess Kalb, who is cited in the article for a tweet against the article, and who writes for Jimmy Kimmel, wrote this in her first tweet on the subject:
“I don’t mean to sound intolerant or coarse, but fuck this Nazi and fuck the gentle, inquisitive tone of this Nazi normalizing barf journalism, and fuck the photographer for not just throwing the camera at this Nazi’s head and laughing.”
I’m no more of a fan of Nazis than she is, but what gets me is that she would surely never say that about a communist. The inconsistent, hypocritical snowflake quality to these rants against this article show just how weak these Liberals are.
The whole Charlottesville Tiki torch march was very strange. Who bought the torches, flags, etc.? Organizer was a pro Obama antifa dude. Strange cast of characters.
I have not, fortunately, met a white supremacist in my lifetime.
Charlottesville mimicked Ukraine

Soros is involved there
>>the terrifying Ku Klux Klan-like images of young white men carrying tiki torches
Laughable images of white men carrying tiki torches. Call them out for cultural appropriation. Call them out for suburban kitch, but I don’t recall any KKK groups using tiki torches from the local big box garden supply store.
Dial a mob didn’t have adequate funding for supplies. Central casting really should try to do better next time.
>>and the subsequent violence that included the killing of a woman, Heather D. Heyer.
Have they stopped counting the helicopter crash as they did during the event?
Charlottesville? Old news, don’t they know we’ve moved on to endless sexual harassment allegations?
I have not, fortunately, met a white supremacist in my lifetime.
Me neither (in 69 years of living all over this fine Country.)
I suspect that most white supremacists are actually Hollywood inventions (or Democrats).
.
Actually, it was, "YOU will not replace us; JEW will not replace us".
Maybe Barbara Spectre shouldn't have admitted, on video, that the importation of third-world Muslims (and others) into Western countries, is Coudenhove-Kalergi's plan to replace white people with the "New Man", the "Eurasian Negro".
And she shouldn't have further stated that she and other Jews are essentially behind the implementation, and should be prepared for blowback, as a result.
Carlos Slim’s NY TIMES is slime.
Was before he took over.
I thought they were chanting “you will not replace us”, directed at globalists.
Then he got in touch with known "white nationalists" to arrange for this "Unite the Right" demonstration. So there were probably some actual "white nationalists" that showed up to demonstrate against Antifa, who seemed bent on tearing down a statue of Robert E Lee.
The guy who did this choreographed the whole thing. Before the event, two charter buses from the the same bus company arrived at the same time, at the same bus station. When the passengers filed off the buses, the occupants of one bus got off carrying Nazi flags, and the Antifa bus got off carrying Antifa signs, with a few Communist hammer and sickle flags.
Then, the "crisis actors" playing the "fascists" had their silly little tiki torch parade, and the shit hit the fan.
I believe that the woman who got run over was an accident which probably wouldn't have happened if Antifa hadn't attacked the car. Oh well, she was a documented left winger who gave her life for the cause.
This was a huge story for a few days until all the inconsistencies in the script started coming out, and it suddenly went back off the radar, with no more about it, and no more answers to the questions.
Just like the Las Vegas shootings. Funny about that...
