They put the final nail in compaq as well. Any DEC remnants were evicerated. Carly, Meg....tamped out the last flames of innovation.

Ginni Rometty has been a disaster for IBM as well.

“Maybe someday they’ll have a CEO who knows that V=IR
Until then, more art history majors!
Followed by bankruptcy”

Well said.
And unfortunately appears to be now an operating rule.

Whatever happened to Carly? She seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth.

Speaking circuit, I imagine.

5, 10, even 15k per speech.

You are correct in that she has mostly vanished from the political landscape, In my view this confirms that she never really had a legitimate, comprehensive platform and/or philosophy and was mostly an opportunist.

#14: "What about Fiorina?"

Absolutely. I should have mentioned her by name. Clueless MBAs and glad handers take control of a company, salt away their golden parachute, and leave behind burning rubble.

Echos from the golden age …

Well, specifically...

I had a disabled spouse at home, and HP had always cooperated in my care for her. During Florina’s time as CEO, they took a difference stance, “my wife was MY problem” and I was expected to be there, regardless, when they wanted me there.

That didn’t work for me...

Could that be spilled coffee drops just left of the bottom brand label?

It is what PC Marxist cultures bring: Merit never counts. Excellence never counts. IQ never counts. Only superficial things count-—your “group’. Those groupings which only allow “group (non) think” and are so degrading they reduce you to a skin color or sex or sexual behavior.

But that is the System to force our children into a mindless, non-thinking, herd mentality so that consensus determines everything and individualism and free will are not allowed. All to collapse Western Civilization—the Age of Reason Modern Science and Christianity-—all have to be destroyed for the Brave New World where Up is Down, Boys are Girls and Sodomy is a virtue.

Reason and Common Sense are completely eliminated from mankind. All reduced to animals like Marx wanted: No Natural Families, no biological connections, no traditions, so the Masters can rewrite history and control and program every single person on earth—total Mind control for all their giddy, little, ignorant happy slaves.

I started in ‘81. Carly Inc. made me an offer I couldn’t refuse in 2010. Looking back, it was for the best. It was like Compaq took over HP with HP’s money.

I use my elegant, reliable, HP 12C / RPN calculator every day. Can’t imagine living without it.

Fiorina & Whitman were wretched. Bartz was worse, from personal experience.

Me too. HP’s 12-c financial calculator has been with me since the 1980’s HP cheapened them and they don’t last as long but still.

I’m not keen on her RINOism, but Whitman delivered very well for her shareholders, thank you, while running one of the most sluggish of legacy firms in tech.

Carly is a lightweight, for sure—but Meg is the real deal.

Those were disaster companies, long past their primes.

Whitman did okay by her shareholders, while taking some pretty bold actions.
