Charlie Rose fired by CBS over sexual harassment allegations
The Los Angeles Times ^ | November 21, 2017 | Stephen Battaglio

Charlie Rose’s CBS News career came to an unceremonious end Tuesday when the network fired him over allegations of sexual harassment.

"A short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effective immediately," CBS News President David Rhodes wrote in a note to staff. "This followed the revelation yesterday of extremely disturbing and intolerable behavior said to have revolved around his PBS program. Despite Charlie's important journalistic contribution to our news division, there is absolutely nothing more important, in this or any organization, than ensuring a safe, professional workplace — a supportive environment where people feel they can do their best work. We need to be such a place."

Rose has always been such a sanctimonious prick. I hope he’s suffering bigly.

I wonder if this all coordinated behind the scenes.

This all started with Harvey Weinstein. People such as Meryl Streep professed to be oh so shocked about the allegations, and nobody knew, and all that.

Yet we can go back and see the past videos of Harvey Weinstein jokes being told at Academy Awards shows, and Harvey Weinstein sex jokes inserted into the dialogue of sitcoms.

I think that numerous people knew about all of this stuff going on, but for their own reasons, nobody was willing to say anything publicly.

I think someone in the media decided that they want to push sexual misbehavior stories. It seems too coincidental that 8 women come forward in one day about Charlie Rose, and he’s fired the next day. Somebody had to organize all this.

The 20 and 30 somethings, that are starting to run things are tyrannical. Not a good trend.

I doubt that PBS would take him back.

To show how much they care about the sexual abuse of women, the Democrats need to start a hands across her chest movement, in the same vain as the Hands Across America, from years ago.

He'll be the debate moderator in 2020.

He wasn’t a bad journalist. He had good news in the morning.

Sad, sad, sad.

20 and 30 something year olds are coddled children who were told in school to shut down anyone that doesn’t agree with them.

He wasn’t a bad journalist. He had good news in the morning.

He was a mainstream media talking head, a stalwart on progressive channels like PBS and CBS. Always ready to spin and promote a democrat political narrative. He won't be missed.

With news his show has been cancelled, Christmas has come early.

If Hillary won the presidency none of this would have been made public. Harvey would still be raping and Spacey would be pawing the young kids.

Hillary would have saved Harvey, he was a huge Hollywood donor.

You have not seen an inquisition like this since the red scare in the 50s. Lives totally destroyed with a phone call.

I absolutely believe your statement to be true. But what is the connection exactly? I have lived in Communist, top-down statist countries where centralized politics controls everything in society (which increasingly resembles the situation in the United States) and where one sees bizarre social consequences from political changes at the top, so I know these causations exist.

Put there is often a behind-the-scenes mechanism and cascade of events which causes these things. In this case - what is that causation with Trump's election? Its not merely just the "zeitgeist."

His personal life included parading his family jewels in front of his female staff. That can never be a wise decision.

The liberals usually get a pass, but lately the hypocrisy has reached critical mass, and somebody’s blood had to be spilled to maintain the facade of moral superiority. Poor Charlie’s number came up.

Apparently, he was not just an Exhibitionist, but a Voyeur as well. He would (allegedly) telephone his female employees at night, as they lay in bed with their husbands. Rose would then ask her “What are you doing to your husband and what did he just finish doing to you?”. WTF?

If this happened, were they too afraid to just hang up?
Were there husbands also ‘afraid’, or did they even know who the wife was talking to?” IF this happened as described.

Agreed. What the hell is wrong with these women? I could stop a man with my glare. I only once had to threaten a man with a punch in the nose and a knee aimed at his jewels.

When I started my career, a guy going through a rough divorce was making the rounds with unwanted behavior. I was in the copy machine room (all good careers start at the copy machine) and the guy came and started his thing. I cut him off immediately. I asked him to join me and my boss to find out exactly what topics he and I should cover at the work place. He backed down and I never ever had a problem with him.

What the hell is wrong with these female dummies? Someone mistreats at the work place YOU SPEAK UP immediately, especially if you work for a large corp. They have an HR representative to handle these things if you are afraid of your boss.
