Bullsh!t. It’s precisely what I advised and taught commanders for the entire 30 years I served as a JAG. He paid attention and gave PRECISELY the correct response.

The problem isn’t what he said. It was that his job isn’t to run around from one think tank forum to another jabbering.
His duty is to resign in the face of an illegal order.
And if you were a lawyer, you might have been aware of the concept of not saying things that have other far reaching damaging effects. This General played right along with the narrative that Trump -might- be a loose cannon and give illegal orders.
Its the second time in a month that this jackwagon has contradicted the President in public.

It was a hypothetical, he wasn’t giving ANYTHING away, it was a correct response.
There’s a distinct difference between answering questions at a deposition under oath and answering the hypothetical in a public forum. He did nothing wrong, and his answer was precise and correct.
He gave the response in the context of ANY illegal order. It was perfectly appropriate.

The actual context was that of Trump being the type of president that would give an illegal order. The General was a fool for playing along and answering the question. I guess he wanted to. He should be fired insolent behavior towards the CIC.
All who served know you do not obey an illegal order. Hell, a BCT PVT E-1 trainee learns that. The General ran his mouth way too much plus went into procedures. That is like a combat CO in AFGHAN now telling the world his OPORD and his plan to execute it.
No General provides legal advice other then JAG types. This guy is a REMF piece of trash.

Eddie01 You are dead on. Look up this REMF Gen’s BIO. He is a damn disgrace to every pilot and crew type who supported my unit in combat. I wonder why we have bombers parked on runways now with no 24/7 SAC looking glass plus the usual fully loaded bombers? How are we going to replace the pilots?
