Can anyone imagine in 1960 the leader of SAC going to a forum in a foreign country and carefully explaining the process he would use before he executes his orders?

If i was a foreign spook, i would have listened to what this moron said and would work quickly to learn all i could about him, and who he turns to for JAG opinions. Then i would study their families and personal lives VERY carefully for pressure points.
After all, General Dweezle just told him he will refuse to launch if a JAG lawyer tells him it’s “illegal”. So i’d start working to compromise whoever his JAG was. And of course, take photos of the Generals kids walking into school or whatever.

If anything, I would guess he might even have had the President's blessing and might have been asked to provide such info.
Spent 24 years in uniform and another 15 working with those in uniform - part of our training under the UCMJ includes the right/duty to refuse unlawful orders....
Replace Trump with Obama and people would be supporting this General. He didn’t mention any President in name, just ‘president’. He said the right thing.
That phrase is a flare-lit tipoff that what follows is falsehood posing as truth.

Imagine the hysterics if Trump recalled a general to the White House and fired him. Sad to see once again that the military brass doesn’t appreciate all that Trump does for them.
The kenyan and the Democrat Party decimated this Generals command. Trump plan a huge expansion of nuclear capabilities. Yet he Hayten even give him the courtesy of publicly supporting his CINC and entertains politically charged hypothetical questions? Pathetic.

He served up a global political narrative which portray’s Trump as not having command and control of our military forces.

I knew from the outset this was MSM spin... they do this all the time...
When you dig into what ACTUALLY happened or was said, you find it never fits the narrative they portray

Anyone who thinks the head of strategic forces should be onstage discussing his thinking process on launch decisions doesn’t understand the first thing about how the old SAC used to operate.
And a USN boomer would really be a culture shock.

It wasn’t his answer, it was the media lying about his answer.
He shouldn’t be yapping about Trump possibly giving him illegal orders. What he should have said was I don’t engage in what if’s.

It was neither of those. It was him being onstage talking, AT ALL. His being onstage did nothing to improve our readiness. It simply was good for the people people who made money by organizing the event. And with our strategic forces in massive disarray, he has more than enough to do. In the last few years there was the B-52 with unaccounted for nukes. There was a scathing report about very poor morale and readiness in the silos.
And there is zippy, up on stage yammering away.... He has work to do that day....and it wasn’t with the press. I would go so far as to say his entire tour he should never have a reason to speak to the press....ever.
