Thanks RoosterRedux.
In fact, nothing of the sort occurred. The story, like many that have appeared since November 8, 2016, is an almost complete fabrication, intended to embarrass President Trump and cause turmoil within the federal government and among Trump's own supporters.
IOW, another partisan media shill concocted the question in order to have something to spin (lie about).

No, he didn’t. The hypothetical was presented to him and he gave the correct answer. Our military isn’t the Wehrmacht or the Luftwaffe and we don’t require them to “just follow orders”. The presstitutes tried to make this into an anti-Trump story, as if high level officers are considering a mutiny.

He gave a legalistic answer to a politically charged question. After the MSM made it a story he couldn’t find 2 minutes to personally correct the record. He poorly served his country and his CINC. Like the USAF Academy director (fake racism), Coastie commandant (homos), JAG (Bergdahl), Mattis (homos) and others who have undermined readiness and/or POTUS I’m sure he doesn’t give a flip that he did.

Don’t you find it odd we never had this problem of insubordination in 8 years of Obama and now in less than a year of Trump we have numerous examples of a PC military out of control and unwilling to support their CINC?

THIS IS A REASONABLE AND CORRECT REPLY

I am sure if you asked Trump he would say that he would not want any officer or enlisted men to follow any illegal order.

What he really did was publically pose a hypothetical where President Trump would ask him to do something illegal.

He needs to go.

Exactly. And he won’t be going anywhere. Like the Bergdahl judge/JAG chain of command, USAF academy commander, Coast Guard commandant, etc. Sad to see how little the military brass is supporting Trump. Like the corporate world they have totally sold out to the progressive agenda.

Anyone calling for him to go doesn’t understand the first thing about how the military operates.

Anyone defending him doesn’t understand the politically charged nature of the question and the Trump hating forum it was asked in. The General knew the political context and chose to answer in a legalistic way anyway.

Which the media deliberately twisted into disobeying an illegal nuke order from Trump. The media are slime.

The problem with this entire interaction between the general and the reporter is that the question is posed in such a way that it implies that any nuke order by Trump would be considered to be illegal. Then, the answer, is taken to mean that the General would refuse to fire the nuke.

Neither of those ideas are supported by the actual words, but that's how the story gets printed.

To take them seriously, to respond to them as the media and the left would like, is to collaborate. Rule of thumb is, simply put: anything – anything at all – coming from the legacy media must be examined under the presumption of dishonesty. Don't respond until after you've checked it out, not only down to the ground, but to the basement and subbasements as well.

Excellent advice.

Do they teach dishonesty now in journalism school? Or, do they just depend on human nature to generate enough of it to make their students employable by the mainstream media?

It was a question from the audience at a Trump hating “security conference.” The media just ran with the ball after the General gifted them an attack on Trump.

The General walked in knowing what that crowd was. That he played ball with their agenda is all you need to know about where his loyalty is.

It would be the correct answer at a war college lecture. It was most certainly not the correct answer at a politically charged Trump hate fest.

The media has gone over to the dark side.

As they say, "by any means necessary." That is the motto of the Left.

You are absolutely right. That is exactly what he did giving the Trump hater MSM and talking heads grist to twist and throw at POTUS. I may be wrong about this but I think I read somewhere that Hyten is an Obama General who dislikes POTUS and said something else nasty about him a few months or so ago. I seem to remember some anti-Trump rumblings around Hyten before.

“No, the reporter posed the hypothetical. The General answered the question by explaining standard Army policy. The article points out the truth, if it is read.”

Exactly. I would fire any general that would willingly obey a clearly illegal order.

And, in any case, our worst general is far more trustworthy than ANY liberal politician or MSM slime.

What he also did was go out there and describe HOW he would do his job. Every enemy on the world can study and learn his thinking and response process. That gives them a chance to interfere with it.

This is what happens when you let a Harvard boy, non-pilot, non-missileman, who has never left CONUS run the strategic command.

That used to be something that was secret.
This Obamaite general isn’t very “strategic”.
