This statement is equating incarceration and gun violence with economic opportunity.
How much of this violence is caused by financial envy ?
vs
drug related and gang/ ethnic/ tribal violence ?
There is too much missing information to draw a conclusion, except that the researchers are all from Boston Mass.,
and Anita Knopov writes for Salon, and this article comes from 11/14/17 issue of Salon.com .

It’s primarily drugs. We have been watching this drama play out since the 1990s. But we don’t do much about it so long as they’re mostly killing each other. The Democrats know exactly what the deal is and they bear plenty of the blame for the creation of this situation but that’s no reason to not exploit the situation.

I managed a Garden Center in, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan.’ We were located in what was once the ‘edge’ of the city, and adjacent to a high crime/low income area.

There were some problems through the years.

One day a black woman came into the store and started yelling from the moment she walked in, ‘Why are there no people of COLOR working here?’ And she continued to annoy my customers until I called the cops and had her escorted out.

What she didn’t know was that my ‘people of color’ weren’t working that shift, and through the years I tried very HARD to hire them, but they had to WORK and they didn’t like that, so they didn’t come back!

Another instance was when we had a group of a half-dozen black THUGS roaming around in the store in a pack. What did these kids NEED from a Garden Center? That would be - Nothing. Again, had to have the police escort them out. They had all kinds of names for me. *Rolleyes*

So, I TRIED - but how can one person change generations of this kind of behavior? I have no answers. Well, I do, but they’re not Politically Correct, and that is KEY to making a living as an, ‘Evil Capitalist’ in Madistan. ;)
