Al Franken to the Rescue - Minnesota’s most prominent imbecile steals all of Roy Moore’s bad press
American Spectator ^ | 11/17/2017 | Scott McKay

Posted on 11/17/2017 11:27:23 AM PST by advance_copy

Since last week, the political news has been dominated not by the Bob Menendez corruption trial, not by the fight to pass tax reform in the House, which happened Thursday, not by the rather stupendous accomplishments of the president and his team during his Asia trip — including bailing out three UCLA basketball players who stupidly got themselves arrested for shoplifting at a Louis Vuitton store in China — but instead by a series of allegations about the Republican nominee in the special election in Alabama to replace Jeff Sessions in the Senate.

[SNIP]

I said at my site that Moore ought to offer to withdraw from the race in Alabama the minute the Senate votes to expel Menendez, a suggestion which would never have to be acted on — and that fact would expose the hypocrisy and lack of credibility of Mitch McConnell and the rest of the establishment pukes populating the Senate. I said that before the Franken story came up. Now with Franken Moore can offer a two-for-one deal which will similarly not be taken up and the Senate would look twice as fraudulent.

[SNIP]

At this point, regardless of what happens, McConnell loses — if Moore wins, the leadership will have to seat him and tolerate his sure-to-be maverick behavior for having alienated the GOP’s own candidate and seen him win anyway, and if Moore loses they’ll have found a way to lose a Senate seat in one of the deepest-red states in the country.

Either way, McConnell’s utility as the Senate’s Majority Leader seems to have passed his expiration date.

And Mitch McConnell to the rescue of Al Franken by calling for an "ethics investigation" instead of Franken's resignation. If it had been Ted Cruz instead of Al Franken, Mitch McConnell would already be calling for resignation.

I dare anybody here to call for Franken’s resignation.

He needs to stay in Congress doing his good work for the Democrats

If Franken resigns, the Dem governor would just appoint another lib.

OTOH, if he did resign, then maybe it might start a usefu trend. If he stays in for 2 more years, his clown show would reflect poorly on the Dems.

I’m frankly a bit conflicted as to what I’d like to see happen.

As long as Franken sits in the Senate, the anti-Moore jihad is finished.

Even if he resigns and is replaced by a Democrat - remember DJT almost won Minnesota. A standard Republican can’t win that Senate seat, but a MAGA candidate just might.

The hypocrisy of the GOPe has been exposed and they know it.

I expect these attacks on Moore to begin to begin to fade away.

“...State’s most prominent imbecile”.

There is a lot of competition for that distinction in MN. Governor Mark Dayton. State Supremes willing to let the Gov line item abolish the Legislature. Previous Governor Ventura.

That’s what happens when there’s photos instead of just 40 year old stories from questionable sources.

I was just thinking to myself the other day, that these Senate establishment types who are all in an uproar over Moore being disqualified for the Senate because of his alleged behavior 4 decades ago, and here Minnesota elects some imbecilic comedian with no experience except appearing on SNL to their Senate seat and he's okay to be elected to the Senate?

If there is a standard for the Senate, what exactly is it? If Franken passed muster and Moore doesn't, then the bar must not be very high.

And then like a gift from above, Al Franken is accused of being the biggest sexual groper in the Senate and and many are calling for him to resign.

Life is sweet but sometimes it's sweeter when it goes your way. :-)

Franken’s misfortune to have chosen a woman with a microphone and to have been photographed in the act. Otherwise it would just be another dubious claim.

Al Franken is accused of being the biggest sexual groper [still serving] in the Senate.

Joe Biden was, until he became VP. That is when Franken took over as “Groper-in-Chief” of the Senate.

Anybody notice that there is only decades-old heresay “evidence” about Moore.

But with Franken, there’s photographic and audio evidence on center stage.

Always knew he was a creep and a hypocrite...

If you want a tiny idea just how corrupt DC is just see that old Eddie Murphy movie "The Distinguished Gentleman"; and then multiply it by a Million or more.

Almost every thing billed to the tax payer has built in graft & corruption to line the pockets of the politicians and the company doing the work - whether it's building highways, guns & missiles, sending rockets into space etc the whole game is rigged in favor of these establishment crooks.

I just scratch my head & wonder just how Israel can make better copies of our Patriot missiles that has better range & sensors and still sell for 1/10 of the price we sell ours. Theirs goes for a cheap $400,000 per missile, so where does the remaining $3,600,000 go to?
