Fox News anchor Shep Smith broke from his networks hyperventilating coverage of the Uranium One pseudoscandal to debunk allegations of wrongdoings by Hillary Clinton.
Smith, never one to blindly toe the party line, took to task President Donald Trump ― and, implicitly, his cable news network of choice ― over the inaccurate portrayal of the sale of a Canadian mining company with major U.S. holdings to a Russian company.
Heres the accusation, Smith explained Tuesday. Nine people involved in the deal made donations to the Clinton Foundation totaling more than $140 million. In exchange, Secretary of State Clinton approved the sale to the Russians a quid pro quo.
Its a claim that has dominated Fox News in recent weeks after The Hill published a deeply flawed report about a Russian bribery plot involving the sale. Following pressure from the president and several Republican members of Congress, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced earlier this week that the Justice Department would consider appointing a special counsel to review the deal as well as other matters involving Clinton and other Democrats.
Theres never been any evidence that Clinton acted inappropriately and, as Smith notes, the Clinton State Department had no power to approve or veto that transaction. It could do neither. Indeed, the State Department was just one of nine agencies that signed off on the deal and Clinton herself wasnt even on the committee.
The accusation is predicated on the charge that Secretary Clinton approved the sale, Smith said. She did not. A committee of nine evaluated the sale, the president approved the sale, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and others had to offer permits, and none of the uranium was exported for use by the U.S. to Russia. That is Uranium One.

Shep appears butt-hurt.
Did shep bite his pillow and cry stop being mean to Hillary?
The entire EXISTENCE of the “Clinton Foundation” is a fraud and pay-to-play racket.
I think it was Monday night on The Five when Dana Perino pooh-poohed the significance of Clintons and Uranium 1. She defended Hillary a couple times that night. Still getting her marching orders from the Bush family, apparently.
Auditioning for MSNBC. Contract must be up.
Wait ...
What?
One might imagine that Shep is *always* butt-hurt, regardless.
Alana misspelled Stalin
I can’t believe he and I grew up in the same place...................
Let’s check the bank accounts of those other people, too.
Huffpost slanted reporting, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
HuffPo and Shepper tag team holding fingers in the dike-dyke!
Try not to think of the vivid imagery of that!
The purpose of the Democrat Party is to elect thieves to public office so that they can use the power of government to steal.
They will fight to maintain and protect their thievery.
Nice try Shep but it won’t work. The deal was Hillary’s OK in exchange for money to the Foundation. The fact that others including Obama had to also sign off is irrelevant.
I guess Shep left out that Hillary was one of the Board members that approved and that the bribes and kick backs that the FBI was investigating was withheld from other members of the Board.
Yes Shep,
ALL 9 people in the Obama administration COLLUDED to undermine America and enrich Hillary.
That is the scenario for the entire 8 years of that administration.
Except for millions of dollars in payoffs from those involved with Uranium One to the Clinton Foundation and Bill getting double his speaking fee to give a speech in Moscow.
Even Politico is more objective than Smith:

Controversy surrounding the deal largely pertains to 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who was secretary of state in 2010 when the State Department signed off on Rosatoms purchase of Uranium One. Several of Uranium Ones owners were also donors to the Clinton Foundation, giving $145 million to the charitable foundation, and critics have alleged that Clinton greenlighted the sale to appease donors to her familys charity.
Maybe this gutless leftist should have Greg Jarrett on his program and the debate the issue with him.
I.m no lawyer nor play one on television, but I have to think the Foundation is RICO charges worthy.
