Listen to the energy and passion in his voice when he talks about the NFL. Rush used to be like that when talking about politics. It's obvious to me that football has replaced politics as Rush's #1 love.
Very revealing comment from Rush last week when a caller proclaimed she was a longtime political junkie (like most FReepers and Rush fans). Rush said to her (in a slightly whiny voice): "Don't you ever get tired of it?"

Rush had passion when he was still in his ascendancy, but I think he’s now flatlined on politics... kind of like kids eating too much candy after the Halloween door-to-door sugar engorgement: he’s just burnt-out from too many years of it.
Thank goodness I had to miss the first hour. The second hour seems to be more on topic. Hope it stays that way.

Well, he stayed off the subject for nearly an hour. That’s like a new record for lately! Sheesh!

I can sort of understand that, but, geez, political commentary is his profession... and he's made millions of $$ from it.
I've been a political junkie for decades... I never tire of it. It's actually hard for me to understand how he could be burned out from politics at this point. Especially with Trump in the White House right now.
Yeah, the way he led off the show, it sure sounded like we were in for a full 3 hours of NFL Chat. Glad he got back to politics...
I will one of these days when Rush goes full-on NFL, LOL. I was partly listening in the car, so it wasn't convenient for me to try to find him on my phone, etc. Wish Kuhner was on one of our local radio stations.
I had to go back and listen to the first hour, and he had some pretty good things to say after the NFL blahblah. Then a caller asked about the NFL and he was off again. I think his callers lead him on these wild goose chases! LOL!
