In Alabama, Republican Voters Stand by Roy Moore
NBC "News" ^ | November 11, 2017 | by ADAM EDELMAN

PRATTVILLE, Ala. — Jerome Cox, the pastor at the Greenwood Baptist Church in this small city 20 miles northwest of Montgomery, put down his banjo and smiled as he explained that he aims to always see the good in people.

That includes people like Roy Moore.

"I voted for him in the primary, in the runoff and I’ll be voting for him again on Dec. 12," Cox said.

Of more than a dozen Republican voters in Alabama interviewed by NBC News, none said their support for Moore would change.

Most said they didn't believe the allegations and some said even if they are true, that wouldn't sway their vote for him next month because they think Moore is a good man, should be forgiven and they could never bring themselves to vote for a Democrat anyway. Several attacked the media.

Across the street from Cox's congregation, rock music blared from the Big Star Tavern, where locals slammed Bud Lights, watched college football, shot pool — and defended Moore with suds-soaked passion.

"Why would they wait until now to come forward with this unless someone put them up to it," said Tony Emfinger, a 57-year-old barback at the tavern.

Emfinger, who used mostly four-letter words in referring to the allegations, has held Moore in especially high regard since 2003, when his 66-year-old aunt was handcuffed in her wheelchair and arrested after having participated in protests, led by Moore, against orders from a federal judge to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments from the lobby of the Alabama state Supreme Court.

"What he stood for then, what he stands for now, that’s why I want him" in the Senate, Emfinger said.

Puts down his banjo was a slur meant to intimate we southerners are right out of Deliverance.

I find it appalling that the Republican ‘leaders’ are trying to oust a Republican who won his Primary. I am also appalled that so many Republican ‘leaders’ are willing to put forth that they automatically ‘believe’ the accusers (especially since all those who ‘believe’ are anti-Moore Republicans). The timing of the accusations stinks to high heaven. I hope they will put off the Alabama election until this can either be verified or Moore can be vindicated. I have been a little surprised that most of the recent accusations have been against Dems.....was waiting for it to hit the Pubbies. But this is ridiculous. 40 years later??? VERIFY OR DROP THE ACCUSATIONS. Trump made the best statement. MAGA

Hannity has bent over backwards to please his mainly female fan base.
To the detriment of Roy Moore.
So has Laura Ingrahan.
Both were big Mo Brooks supporters.

All this Moore hit job tells me is that the Judge is the real anti-establishment deal.

Yep, the establushment blew their wad in a concerted Waterloo-style panic over this, are they seeing now they were trapped, hook, line and sinker? The story is falling apart like a cheap souffle.

As I recall it, back in 1977, Senior girls in HS, for the most part wouldn’t date HS boys. This was Mass so I doubt it was peculiar to Alabama. In my HS many Sr. boys dated freshman girls. It wasn’t kooky or dirty, just how it was.

On Roy Moore, this is set up as a libtard/never Trump fight now. The only accuser is a loon who has led a bad life with drugs and bankruptcies and is a dedicated Clintonista. It’s almost like National Review had the stuff already to go right after WAPO. This is a hit job in my view.

Ditch apparently has plenty of time to try to rig elections but not so much for the Legislation he has been promising for so long.

I think the story was just a run up to a Washington Post endorsement of Moore.

History shows us that when a politician is accused of sexual misconduct (such as Rape) as Bill Clinton was, the Post enthusiastically endorses that candidate.

Posted this before - You cant play defense with the swamp. Everyone knows this is bald face lie. He needs to start attacking them for what they are. Trump didnt play defense. He we right after these liars with a law suit.

This a typical Alinsky tactic to isolate the opponent with accusations that you cant defend - because their is not evidence. You cant be pulled into this argument...start attacking them they are afraid of him because he represents someone who is a threat to their power.

Please Mr. Moore - quit playing defense - most Alabamans know that this is nothing more than the swamp lashing out with despicable lies. YOu must attack them for this because they are afraid of you.

“When Mitch was 30, his wife was was 19.”

Too bad they didn’t get married until she was 40 and he was 50-51-—I would love to see that POS hoisted by his own petard.

As you know, girls mature earlier than boys. While I didn’t date “older men” I couldn’t stand the idea of going out with pimply high school boys who made Holden Caulfield look like a bastion of good taste.

Go, Roy Moore!!

What did Mitch do between 1980 and 1993?

This has been blatant bs and is going to turn and bite the rinos and dems harder than Moore. It has show sloppy desperation on the part of the rinos and dems that really raises eyebrows as to why they are so desperate.

What I find even more interesting in comparison is all the Hollywood men that are being accused are agreeing that they did the crimes. Who admits that without proof? No lawyer would advise that. So, who is forcing them to admit to crimes and bad behavior????? Something is going on behind the scenes that is much more interesting.

It’s called a ‘throw’, designed to distract attention away from other matters that threaten the liberal order.

You’ll notice that most all of these distracting scumbags admit the problem and are quickly ushered to ‘Rehab’ where they get ‘better’ and return to their former perches.

Have a look at the poll’s internals:
People with college degree or higher composed 54% of respondents.
They later break down the vote according to education and Moore polls the lowest among that group, being down 8 points.
With HS education respondents he is up 10 points
With trade school respondents he is up 9 points.
With no HS respondents he is tied.
Fake Poll
