'I think the turnout is going to be larger FOR Roy Moore' (trunc)
Daily Mail ^ | Nov 11, 2017 | Keith Griffith

Republican officials in Alabama are doubling down on Senate candidate Roy Moore in spite of accusations that he dated teen girls in his 30s, as a photo has emerged of one accuser working at a Hillary Clinton campaign event. Moore has vehemently denied a bombshell Washington Post report detailing claims from several women that he dated them in the 1970s, including one who was 14 at the time. While the GOP establishment moved quickly to cut ties with insurgent candidate Moore, who was heavily backed by President Donald Trump's strategist Steve Bannon, local party officials were not so skittish. 'I think it's going to affect the turnout — I think the turnout is going to be larger for Roy Moore,' Calhoun County Republican Party Chairman James Bennett told the Montgomery Advertiser.

'I got more calls yesterday for Roy Moore signs than I have since the primary,' Bennett said. 'I think (Moore supporters) are very skeptical of the reporting four weeks before the election. They’re going to withhold their judgment, but they’re not going to withhold their vote.'

Other Alabama Republicans said they suspected the allegations stemmed from the Washington establishment, in a desperate attempt to keep outsider candidate Moore from reaching DC.

'I mean, how do you react to an allegation that supposedly happened 38 years ago?' Republican State Sentator Dick Brewbaker told Alabama Public Radio. 'I do not buy the idea that suddenly because it's now the US Senate, she felt like she had to come forward. I mean, come on.'

The local support for Moore stood in stark contrast to the reaction from the GOP establishment, after Senate Republicans cut fundraising ties with the candidate on Friday.

No according to NC voter records Gloria Thacker Deason is registered as Republican. Doesn’t mean she votes that way. My sister has been registered as Democrat in Florida for years and swears she has never voted for a Democrat.

I meant apocalyptic. One definition is "resembling the end of the world; momentous or catastrophic". It is an adjective, but I think I'm okay there. It clearly refers back to the noun, "Alabaman".

Apoplectic (which is also an adjective) means "overcome with anger, extremely indignant."

Apoplectic is not a strong enough word for what I wished to convey. For Alabamans, the assault on their culture, history, and their decisions seems to be an attempt to end the world as they know it.

If enough Alabamans are apocalyptic on December 12th, then Judge Moore will win in a landslide.

Can’t wait to see the day-after-the-apocalypse look on Mitch McTurtle’s face. Or Rachel MadCow’s. Or Chrissie Matthews’.

If I were an Alabaman, I'd be apocalyptic

You'd be 'end of the worldish'? Or would you be apoplectic? Overcome with anger or indignation.

It looks as though you need to be on Twitter or Facebook to donate.

I am on neither and I was able to donate directly using the link I posted.

Me too

In Latin America and the Deep South where I grew up

Dating an 18 year old at 32 was not uncommon

Legal consent was 16 then btw

So we have one lying woman who says she was 14 and the others were of age

I lived in Colombia off and on for years

I bet this is funny to them

It’s very common there

It wasn’t for me

I didn’t appreciate younger women till I was middle age

I’m married a 32 year old at 40

Shame

People actually dated then btw

Because this was 40 years ago

At least one source has provided data that she falsified her age.

on the other hand, 50 years ago, while I was still a teenager, I dated a gal that was only 14. What intrigued me was her very young mom, married at 14 and gave birth to her at 16.

Yes those days were different and people accepted early maturity for some women well, especially in the South

I repeat myself. I'd be apocalyptic. The deep state is doing everything in their power to destroy Southern culture, history, and values. For their way of life and traditions, it's "resembling the end of the world, momentous or catastrophic".

That's the correct word for how I feel about the assault on the US Constitution, on State's rights, and on national identity. It's end-of-our-world momentous.

>>God bless Judge Roy Moore! Onward to your Senate seat Judge Moore.<<

And to help him get there, I just contributed $100 to his campaign. Regarding the scurrilous accusations BOUGHT by the Washington Compost, we up here in the mountains of western Maryland know bullsh*t when we hear it, and that’s exactly what the accusations against him are.

Money always factors - the left?GOPe/RINOs gave the excuse for the Repubs to stop all funds and that means w/o funds he can’t effectively fight at all as they all double down to stop a real conservative.
