Donald Trump and his South Korean counterpart exchanged verbal hugs Tuesday night during a four-course state dinner held in the U.S. president's honor in Seoul.

President Moon Jae-in observed the date – Election Day in the United States – and marked one full year since Trump won the White House.

'In Korea, we have a custom of holding a special celebration on one's first birthday,' he said at the Blue House, South Korea's presidential mansion.

'So after pondering about how to best celebrate the first anniversary of President Trump's victory, I decided to invite the President to Korea as a state guest and hold a banquet.'

Moon said Trump's presidency 'is already making America great again.'

I’ve got midwestern tastes still, so I don’t see how he eats that. Even though it’s pure art.

Is President Trump toasting with cranberry juice?
Maybe he toasts with wine, but never sips any.
Whatever he wants to do for diplomacy, I support him.

Every single thing you say, do, don’t say, or don’t do will be analyzed when you’re the president.
It helped Donald Trump that he was already used to being famous and infamous for the last 30 years or more.
Already used to extreme scrutiny and tolerance of trivia.

I could eat every bit of it——my Asian daughter-in-law taught me a lot about food.

My mother’s comfort dish was refried spaghetti with catsup. I’ve come some way from that, but not enough.

There was also a photo of beef, but it wasn't as artistic so I didn't include it.

"The evening's menu included what the South Korean president's office described as 'pine mushroom rice in a stone pot accompanied by grilled Hanwoo (Korean beef) rib seasoned with a special sauce made with an exquisite, 360-year-old soy sauce served on a tray'"

I.m gonna guess that someone talked to Trump’s people about the menu to satisfy both sides of the aisle.

Trump ate with the troops when he got to SK. He proclaimed it “good food”. LOL

I bet it was to his liking.

Love that guy.

Descriptions of the 3 pictures:

The evening’s meal started with corn porridge accompanied by fresh herb and vegetable side dishes

The second course consisted of grilled sole from Geoje island with Donggukjang, a brown bean sauce

For dessert, the leaders had triple chocolate cake with raspberry vanilla sauce and Sujeonggwa - cinnamon punch- granita served with dried persimmons
