Just tell the knotheads that J.E.B. Stuart blew the Civil War for the Confederacy by looting a Union wagon train instead of returning to the battle in time to win at Gettysburg, and therefore is an anti-slavery hero. It’s not a 100% fair interpretation, but it wouldn’t waste a million dollars either, and the students could relate to the looting.

The morons who are so gungho for this change should be the ones to pay for it. The normal average citizen is up to their ears in taxes and should not have to pay for nonsense that accomplishes nothing besides appeasing community agitators.
I guess you could say all former graduates are now disenfranchised, they should demand all the their diplomas be reissued and all their school records (college apps etc) be corrected to reflect the name change.
The school board members supporting the purge of Virginia history SWORE during the discussion phase of this that they have a donor who will take care of ALL the expenses and their stupidity wouldn’t cost the taxpayers in the community; the vast majority of whom support keeping the J.E.B. Stuart name, one red cent. Democrats lie — shocking.
