Why would “that” be teaching women studies while striving to NOT be a woman

“We have educated ourselves into imbecility,” quipped the noted English journalist Malcolm Muggeridge, as he bemoaned the many nefarious ideas that are shaping modern beliefs. Venting an identical disillusionment in his commentary on American culture, George Will averred that there is nothing so vulgar left in our experience for which we cannot transport some professor from somewhere to justify it. - Ravi Zacharias

I don’t disagree. We need to push back in a big way.

When it comes to issues of race

Many on the right are, but not all.

Yes, GID is still a legit disorder.

So was “queer”...until the boy-raping faggots took over the American Psychological Association and industry.

You show me a P/M, and I’ll show you a frequent flyer with the shrink.

“who left the field of neuroscience to become a Women’s Studies professor”

One must leave science to become a women’s studies professor.”

Heck, I study women all the time. Used to be in magazines but now on the internet.

My kid wants to be a psychologist. I groan every time we discuss it and tell the kid that most in that field have deep seated issues and need their OWN psycho doc to help them cope with their own issues AND their patients issues. How can I dissuade my kid? Any ideas?

“Sara Giordano, who left the field of neuroscience to become a Women’s Studies professor at UC-Davis,”

Couldn’t hack the science so went the easiest route...

Neuroscience at least from what I see is a attempt to intellectually stiffen psychology by adding some significant math (e.g., calculus, etc.), some A.I (i.e., programming & some basic machine learning) & some human neurobiology to psychology. At the BS level it fails! What would you actually hire one to do that couldn’t be done better by a BS EE, CE or CS major?

All in all it seems to me to be just a “buzz” major to ensnare student suckers, soak up parental (or loan!) money to keep faculty slots filled.

First of all psychology is the most populate major on campus anywhere. Why? Because its a very low effort degree program. Translation - Plenty of party time!

Rule of Thumb: I always told my kids, if it’s hard to do intellectually, chances are good its worth doing.

They didn’t like this one! - At your age & experience level “the crowd” is always wrong! At my age & experience level “the crowd” is 70% to 80% wrong!
Rule of Thumb - “The Crowd is Wrong!”

Make the following statement then offer.
I will NOT pay for a lone BS in psychology period!
I will pay for psychology as a second major or minor.
The first degree MUST BE!
STEM - Science (excluding biology, psychology, neuroscience),
TE - Technology & engineering degrees includes computer science,
M - Math,
Business - with the possible exception of economics.

I put my foot down on this for my kids (Made my wife & her mother furious at me the first time I did it!) My kids all later ended up with science & engineering degrees at the BS level with an odd collection of 2nd major & minor “hobby” liberal arts degrees. They later went off & either got an employer to pay or paid themselves graduate degrees.
