Our universities have been pulling an NFL for decades.
Folks are tired of it.
Sending your kid away to a university these days almost verges on being some sort of crime against your kids.
What if all the money spent on global warming and other pc crap had been spent on basic research?
When you pick sides based on politics...you’re bound to lose.
The Midwest’s universities are merely following the descent of the elitist’s beloved Coastal Eastern universities into ignomy and irrelevance.
And what if Trump cutting budgets for globull warming “reasearch” was greeted with howls that he’s decimating research budgets.
There was s no financial problem for the universities. They can cut out administrative waste and financing for research in the liberal arts and humanities, virtually none of which benefits society. There will be plenty left for valuable scientific research. The universities need more oversight.
Some of this is due to the fallout from SJW and their collaborators holding professor and administrator positions. When SJW’s and liberal arts professors spout “Math is racist”, “Science is a social construct”, shouting down those who disagree in the least, beginning to infect the STEM fields, and otherwise act like the lunatics from Mao’s Cultural Devolution, of course this is going to affect funding for state supported universities. The question asked by Middle America (flyover country, deplorables, and any other epithet the elites hurl at “normals”) is “why should we fund this crap?” And people really started to take notice with the antics of Melissa Click.

Maybe they could repurpose some of the money going towards courses in LBTQURADV8 studies and Ugandan Basket Weaving.
And perhaps end the growth of “studies” majors and then end them. How many programs in women studies can we justify with public funding in the US.
Perhaps it is for the best. When the Apocalypse comes, whether from Biblical prophecy or so-called global warming, the most valuable members of the society will be those educated in trades. People are going to be much more worried about survival than sociology. Today’s Millennials have no skills beyond googling something on-line and even then they haven’t the tools or experience to survive.

The Universities have long ago become power centers for the Left.
In fairness, most of the hard science departments are the least political. But who apportions the budget? The administrators, and they tend to be very political.

In the old days you knew there was going to be a lot of drinking going on, on or off campus. Guys would get rowdy and it was party-time.
The Leftist vent was there, and it was bad enough then. Today it’s just out of control. We read about what is going on. It’s unacceptable.
Today, you have other things besides beer and hard liquor. Kids leave home and are introduced to just about any sordid thing that exists in the nation.
These are often the first times in a kid’s life when they are on their own. They are exposed to choices most adults aren’t confronted with.
It’s just a real shame.
If I had to send a kid off, it would be to Hillsdale or some such. They may not get the top ranked education, but they’d survive. They wouldn’t be exposed to the disgusting things kids are our major universities are. And then there’s the drugs.

The report says that the decline in funding started in 2008, at the end of the Bush administration and recession due to overspending and a general lack of self-control at the federal level.
Nut what about the states’ pigging out on federal funds, refusing to curb excessive union pension plans, Free This, Free That, etc? Not to mention political corruption at every level of state governments.
The allowing of a major influx of Marxist, anti-white, black racist, Proud Chicana professors, and Climategate lunatics, all contributed to the downward spiral of the American university. This includes fraudulent research in the area of drugs, climate/environment, social issues, the family, etc. and the deconstruction of the Great Literature courses that taught students how to write well, read well, and speak well.
Pres. Bush didn’t do this. Pres. Trump hasn’t done it. So who is LEFT in between who supported his crap? Obama - BINGO - you win a Nobel Prize for common sense.
Once Obama attacked the police re the Prof. Gates mixup, it was open season on the men and women in Blue, law enforcement in general, and societal order specifically.
Ferguson, Baltimore, Philly, NY, Chicago, Berkeley, Portland, Seattle, etc. - where the Marxist and anarchist Left was given a green light to go ahead and attack not only the police, but schools, religion, laws, personal responsibility, and America.
While college administrators have for many schools turned out to be wussies, cowards, and fools, it was personified in Pres. Obama who made being a fool, a coward, a racist, an covert Islamist, and a Marxist traitor into a national standard.
Higher education needs a thorough cleaning, like an atomic bomb on the proverbial “swamp” of incompetence, cowardice and stupidity, while American politics in general needs another enema bigger than the Trump victory.
Some universities deserve to die because they are now the bastions of Marxism, racism, class hatred, and overpaid Castros, Maos, HOs, Stalins and Putins (any Islamic mullah-wannabes) who teach this leftist, anti-Christian, anti-Judaism, anti-American crap 24/7 to young, poorly brought up American youth.
It is time that ZOMBIELAND, aka the American university either be cleaned up and out, or thrown on the trash heap of Lysenkenian “education” once and for all.
We destroyed our national laboratories to fund this worthless crap at the universities.
Let me ask u this, if u want to fund science, would u fund someone who has been doing it for a life time at a national lab, or some kid who just got out of high school?
The funding of university science has a allowed the Marxist leadership at the universities to syphon off money to fund the left leaning arts, and has resulted in universities that should have their buildings torn down, with the ground plowed and salted.
