IMF tells rich nations that greater urgency needed on climate change

The International Monetary Fund has warned the world’s richest nations to have a greater sense of urgency about climate change.

The IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook (WEO), released overnight, has dedicated an entire chapter to the impact of weather shocks and climate change on global economic activity.

It warns coping with climate change will be one of the “fundamental challenges” of the 21st century, saying richer countries must help low-income economies adapt to rapidly increasing temperatures.

“Climate change is a negative global externality of potentially catastrophic proportions and only collective action and multilateral cooperation can effectively address its causes and consequences.”

The IMF warns specifically in its report that rising global temperatures could wreak havoc in parts of the world, particularly in hotter climates where people were too poor to migrate.

No, really ....

What do they want us to do ?

stop driving ?

Use out houses ?

I mean ..... if man really is to blame for climate change, what do "they" want man to do ?

(for the record, I'm a denier)

Yes to all of those.....especially driving. They already see Millenials not having any interest in driving so they just have to get up oldies off the gas guzzlers. I hate to see how America is 50 years ago....I’ll be dead most likely...I hope not to live to 98. Anyway, the next Democrat as President whenever that is and there will be one will go all in on Climate Change and use the hurricane, tornados, earthquakes, and fires as reasons to do so that have occurred this month. They don’t believe in weather patterns or cycles.

And of course that urgency is the urgent need to transfer even more dollars into the hands of the third world kleptocrats who already steal their countries blind

If the one sounding the “global climate change” alarm regularly uses gasoline-powered transportation, directly or by proxy, I don’t believe their honesty/sincerity.

Here in the Northwest, it is getting colder and the rains and thunder are moving in. One year we had the Columbus Day storm of 100 mph winds. I sense that another similar storm is on the way.

We should do something about our weather now before it gets worse. The weather sucks and people are standing around, doing nothing. I would like to see 70 degree weather every day with no rain, winds or ice. I would like days when the birds are singing and the people are laying back in harmony with the earth. If everyone would go outdoors and wave their fans to the north, we could push that nasty weather back where it came from. Also, if we could tie rockets to the earth and slow its rotation, we would have longer days and more time for the sun to warm the air. There’s things we could do.

Yes. All of them. They’d be particularly happy if you offed yourself & your offspring.

Of late I’ve been chastising such advocates for not actually living what they advocate (no, not the suicide bit) but they consider it a pointless “Prisoner’s Dilemma” choice - if they do it and others don’t, they suffer and others benefit (until it all comes crashing down on everyone); I try to explain that I don’t believe their sincerity unless they live it, which really isn’t that expensive if you think it’s serious...to the point that _I_ have done more to mitigate “climate change” than they have (EV, solar, etc to varying & increasing degrees).

I really like your idea of using rockets, but the climate communists really just want your bank account.

I was talking to a fairly intelligent fellow yesterday, and he said he was expecting a warm winter because of global warming.

I told him that even if the worst case predictions of a 4 degree F rise in temperatures over the next 100 years were true, that would mean a difference of 0.04 degrees between this year and last, which would be imperceptible.

He was flabbergasted. He thought it would be 4 degrees year to year.

People out there really think this way.

The $$$ will all flow thru the IMF.
They get Trillions to manage as they see fit (or skim off for their own personal gain).
Imagine the Clinton Foundation magnified 10,000x and all beyond the regulation of USA or EU law.
