As Congress contemplates the next step for children who immigrated to this country illegally, a population of young immigrants who entered America legally is beginning to speak out.
Not covered by the proposed DREAM Act, not eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, these children are unlike any other class of immigrants and probably have no chance to stay in the country as adults unless the federal government clears a decades-long backlog of applications.
Nicknamed H-4 Dreamers, the children were brought to America from India with their parents on H-4, or dependent, visas. Until they turn 21, their status is the same as that of their parents, so if their parents become citizens, they do as well.
Many parents take this approach, coming into the country for a short period on an H-1B visa as a skilled worker and then applying to stay on an immigrant visa.
Thats usually not a problem, unless the family is from India, where theres a 70-year wait for immigrant visa status because of a large number of qualified applicants.

Sounds like these are here legally.
Not everyone on earth gets to come here.
It is up to us, the citizens.
No new laws for foreigners.
Kick them ALL out. Including the parents.
Just like welfare, its not my problem because their parents F’ed up.
Another example of H1B taking American jobs and committing chain migration. Send them all home. We don’t need them and, speaking personally, don’t want them either.
They are but their visas, the terms of which they accepted to come here, will expire with no chance for renewal. It was meant to be temporary and now they complain and want an adjustment.
Why does their dream have to become our nightmare?
People in India have no dreams? It’s forbidden for them to dream? Really?
Good.
A fair and balanced media would run stories like this one — and also run stories saying that “Kids of Trouble-makers from India, who were already clearly heading down the wrong path at a young age may be forced to leave US”
But nooooooooooooooooooo! The media just tries to manipulate us with a one-sided view of this “tragedy”.
There is nothing wrong with accepting a limited term visa. They only F’ed up if they expected it to be unlimited.
Throw ALL illegal aliens OUT! Seize their assets to pay for their indiscretions.
There are millions of Indian illegal aliens. They come her on H-1B visa and stay past their visa.
I have a dream,too.
They’re not American Indians, so why should I care? /S
Seriously, these kids will be taken care of.
They are legal immigrants.
Yes, legally. I have no problem making allowances for this kind of “Dreamer”.
The illegal aliens, yes illegal aliens, not “illegal immigrants” have broken the law, and should be deported.
If illegal aliens that are “Dreamers” (those brought here by their illegal alien parents as children) are allowed to stay, they will become anchor children for their illegal alien parents. All this anchor stuff has to stop.
They make it sound like they’re being sent back to the moon. These ‘kids’ will be the ones in the glass highrise office buildings in Bangalore or Mumbai, looking out from their air-conditioned offices onto the filth and poverty below.
Weren’t these Indian workers brought here to undercut high tech US workers? Stories abound about US workers having to train their foreign replacements. Send them ALL home if they haven’t become citizens!
My modification of that would be this.
Give illegal aliens six months to get their affairs in order.
At the end of that time, the U.S. Government would seize all assets and sell them at auction to help offset the costs of illegal immigration to our nation.
Those having to liquidate homes would get three months grace period, but all family members would have to leave at the six months mark.
Sorry, I don’t have any sympathy for people who took a big chance at our expense, and are now caught between a rock and a hard place.
We have had a large influx of people from India and Pakistan.
They keep family or new arrivals on hand and hire no Americans as a rule. They purchase almost all convenience store selling gas, cigarettes and lottery tickets. There seems to be a group handling this influx. Younger men with expensive cars come and go from the stores. We live in rural Pa . It is the same thing In Maryland. The Joe Biden joke about Dunkin Donuts is true. All of them are in the hands of people from India.
