On Tuesday's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, frequent MSNBC Republican guest David Frum lamented over the trend towards loosening gun laws -- even after high-profile mass shootings -- and then predicted that it would be necessary to convince gun owners that "you're a bad parent if you have a gun in the house" to get the public to support more gun restrictions.
After Frum had spent time lamenting that since the Newtown school shootings in 2012, there have been a loosening of gun laws in many states, host O'Donnell followed up by suggesting that most Americans agree with a push for more gun laws, reacting to fellow guest Nevada Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen. Frum conceded that he found it "a painful thing to say," as he complained that "there is something very wrong with the American gun culture," citing reports that three percent of Americans own half of all guns.
Frum -- senior editor for The Atlantic -- went on to argue that Americans must be convinced that owning guns is a bad thing before they will support more gun laws:
"Until you persuade people that it is just dangerous to themselves, to their children, you're not a good parent if you have a gun in the house, you're not protecting your family, you're a bad parent if you have a gun in the house, until you drill that idea into people's heads and persuade them to change the way we changed about cigarettes and seatbelts, these technical fixes aren't going to accomplish a lot."

My father had guns in the house the entire time that we were growing up. He was career Navy and we knew exactly how we were to behave. There was never a problem at all.
Liberals are idiots.
But you’re a great Parent of you let your confused Teenage Son have his Penis mutilated by a sympathetic Medical Doctor.
Two Goyim hating leftists attacking Conservative Christian gun owners. Big surprise.

I’ve had about all the stupidity I can stand for one evening. After this I’m hanging it up.
I don’t remember having laws passed about “cigarettes” and certainly we had no input on “seatbelt” laws. We gave up smoking because we chose to but wear seat belts because the law requires it now - even tho’ we started wearing them in the early sixties before any do-gooders came along and before new cars were equipped with them..
What we really need is “REEDUCATION CAMPS” for all parents who believe in the 2nd Amendment, folks! Start rounding them up. “Head ‘em up - move ‘em out.”
I want to see every person who has personal security in this country getting rid of them on TV and the weapons used to protect their sorry butts destroyed on camera...that’s ALL POLITICIANS, ALL CELEBRITIES, ALL SPORTS FIGURES - ANYONE who thinks they are too important to mingle with the unwashed masses without being protected!!
I learned to shoot a .22 rifle when I was 12 to shoot the water snakes in the trees at the swimming hole...shot them from the bridge we had to cross to get to the swimming hole. Didn’t get an argument from one of them!!! Our father let us take the .22 from the house - can you imagine? My sister and I had “boys” visit us from town to go swimming and they used the rifle to shoot woodchucks and squirrels...my father had a thing about shooting red or grey squirrels and I don’t remember which one he preferred but I remember he yelled a lot about it...HA!
I guess I’m a bad parent 55 times over. Odd, though, my kids are both working, no crimes committed. By the way they are bad parents also!
Ripped (off) from the pages of FR:
Crazy Joe....
He Clazy!
I’m always lost on this point...
I thought the minimum was;
A pistol
A rifle and
A Shotgun.
As for Apostrophes’’’
So who won out?
Brother got the shotgun - I got the 48 star flag that had been on dads destroyer escort, wind whipped and only about half of it left. It was displayed on 12/7
You did good. Things like are worth having.
