I do feel bad for the Cornell students. Imagine having black students who are actually Africans and who came to the university to study and do well so their families would be proud of them? Who ever heard of such a thing??? And African students who were raised in two parent homes with solid core values can't possibly understand what it's like to be black in America. Oh the pain!!!

It’s understandable. Racial quotas were always a form of reparations for slavery. To see African and Caribbean immigrants sneak in with sub-standard scores, when the sub-standard score quota should probably be reserved for descendants of actual American slaves, is probably galling.

It does lend credence to the theory that it’s not race, but culture. It appears the culture associated with our African Americans sucks raw Dorkbama turds, whilst those coming from Africa appreciate the new culture and work with it.

The Africans know poverty and lack of opportunity. They don’t blame it on Whitey. They are here to learn our civilization.

I’ve worked with quite a few black people in IT. With one exception, every single one who was a typical and smart hard working IT professional was not a US citizen and spent at least their childhood outside the US.

These “african americans” are afraid of “black africans” and for good reason.

Blacks don’t want Africans.
The ME isn’t big enough for muslims.
Mexico doesn’t want Mexicans invading their country

Africans are displacing “African-Americans”? Does that prove that whatever problems they face are cultural rather than racism? No, of course not, not under the far-left world view.

Hilariously, the student group shredded the normal liberal talking points and bizarrely took an anti-immigration and noticeably nationalist stance.

....

If conservative groups suggest that Americans should have preference over new immigrants from outside of the border, they’re called horrible racists and Nazis. When a liberal organization does the same thing and also adds a blatant racial definition, it’s progressive. See how the game works?

Akeem, it looks like this American university is populated with men whom wear the clothes of women, women with unnatural hair color, and descendants of slaves, generations removed from actual slavery, that bask in luxuries that only the elites back home can afford, yet talk of oppression at the hands of a oppressor that they've yet to identify.....are you sure this is America?"

All the black people (14 or so) that attend my church are originally from outside the U.S. (Africa and the Caribbean)

They are engineers, plant managers, pastors and nurses. Their children are highly educated, too. Now the grandchildren are another story. They were born and raised in the U.S. Two that were raised by their grandparents buy into the BLM thing.

At least two of the men and at least one of the women have bought into the Democrat mindset. They are from the Caribbean, NOT Africa.

My mom spent the last year of her life in a nursing home, and most of the caregivers were minorities and - based on their accents - were first-generation, relatively recent arrivals. Several were African-American, and their demeanor was so much different from native-born African-Americans that it indeed constituted a different culture, or cultures.

Unlike the foul-mouthed BLM race-baiters, these people were hard workers willing to work their way up, which I am sure most of them (and their children) will do. They will pass by the BLM-types within a generation.

The Cornell group is willing to argue that being born in the United States with all of its freedoms and opportunities makes them less privileged and more victimized than truly oppressed black students stepping off a boat from Africa.

Nothing will come close to appeasing American black leftists short of massive cash "slavery reparations" payouts. And that would only be temporarily.

At this point, after decades of white liberals enabling the victimization of these perpetual malcontents, the only solution is to eliminate the welfare entitlement state and then shoot the rioters.

I know a couple of Nigerian kids, came to USA as youth when their parents (doctors/professionals) immigrated to the USA.

Parents fit the “Asian Tiger Mom” profile to a “T.”

I obviously don’t ask them “what are your views on the struggles of black America” but I have made some observations

The kids hang out exclusively with Whites and Asians. They have no interest in the “black experience.” If you asked them what music they liked, I’m told it would be Beethoven, or Tayler Swift.

They are top students. Also, top schools Ivy Universities are seeking them out.

They are natty dressers and have very clean-cut public persona. Not excessively fashionable, but always show up to public functions with coat and tie.

Their mid-western teachers (mostly white) who seem to carry “white guilt” around, love these kids, and push them forward every chance they can.

As such, the anger and cognitive dissonance from the Cornell Black student group makes perfect, if contradictory, sense to me.

I don’t doubt that the fake Africans are panicked about real Africans. I’ve met several REAL West Africans who’ve immigrated and I can’t say enough good things about them. The West Africans I’ve met inherently radiate a powerful energy of quietness and calmness. They’re a socialable and likable folk with no chips on their shoulders and zero attitude of entitlement. My feeling is that they would quickly shun any fake Africans that tried to cozy up to them.
