The Supreme Court has announced that it will hear the case Janus v. AFSCME. It will likely prove to be one of the most consequential labor-law cases in U.S. history. At issue is whether public-sector workers can be forced to join or pay fees to a union as a condition of employment. Traditionally, labor unions in America in both the public and private sectors have been the exclusive representatives of the bargaining units that elected them. Essentially, union contracts cover every single worker in the unit, whether the worker wants anything to do with the union or not. This in turn leads to a dilemma: If workers dont have to join or otherwise support the union, non-members essentially free-ride off the unions efforts. If they do, theyre being coerced into offering financial support for an inherently political organization as a condition of employment which is especially troubling when the employer is the government.

By the way, I've heard that the only thing upholding Federal employee unions is an executive order of JFK's, which can be eliminated by a stroke of another President's pen.
Convention of States is the only way...................
It’s sad when you look back, isn’t it? Even in years when we THOUGHT we were gaining ground, we were still losing ground to the Socialist Democrat Party and the RINOs.
I sure hope we’ve turned a corner with President Trump.
*SIGH*
Yep! You know they have already paid off a judge on the 9th for this one.
I put nothing past the left.
Gov. Greitens has signed the Missouri right-to-work bill and we are now the 28th right-to-work state.
I don’t know how federal unions justify their existence - as far as I know, federal salaries are set by the civil service commission and any on-th-job issues would readily be investigated by OSHA, the Inspector General or any one of many government agencies.
Another version: "Even in years when we THOUGHT we were gaining ground, we were still losing ground to the Progressives and their cultish ideology in BOTH the Democrat and Republican Parties!
*APPLAUSE*
Wisconsin was #25. Welcome to the club! :)
Unions have been on a death watch since Michigan passed RTW. Now only police and firefighter unions can force membership, but I doubt that would stand a court challenge.
“Probably” is the key word.
I am still not convinced that John Roberts and Neil Gorsuch are reliable Conservatives.
I hope to be pleasantly surprised at the verdict.
Democrats NEVER feel political anxiety about their Judges.
The RATS own him because of the skeletons he has. I can see him making himself the center of attention by doing a flip-flop. History will treat him badly when his skeletons are revealed. IMO.
They are the biggest scam in the history of the planet.
I would vote for government as the biggest scam:..
And if SCOTUS is overturned by the 9th, it will stand - unless the aggrieved party has the bucks to take the case back to SCOTUS. Many cases end when one party wins in SCOTUS but is later overturned by a circuit court.
About as much as being forced to pay for health insurance because our corrupt government says so?
Since the taxpayers are NOT represented in the public union collective bargaining process, public unions should be illegal.
I have no issue with the private sector unions that refrain from thuggery and graft. I nor family belong to any unions.
Yeah, like funding leftist democRats.
Which is why there should never be a Public Sector Union. Ever. Whoever allowed Public Unions in the first place should be shot.
Outlaw government unions!
