Donald Trump Admits: ‘I Might Have Made a Mistake’ in Endorsing Luther Strange Over Judge Roy Moore

During President Donald Trump’s rally to show support for RINO Mitch McConnell stooge, lifelong DC lobbyist and swamp creature Luther Strange, who the president endorsed, even though many of his supporters like Sebastian Gorka, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, and many others endorsed legendary Ten Commandments Judge Roy Moore, the president admitted that he may have made a “mistake’ with the endorsement.

“I might have made a mistake,” President Trump told the Alabama crowd before the special election on September 26 to fill the seat vacated when former Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions became attorney general. “I’ll be honest, I might have made a mistake,” he said for emphasis.

Anti Trumpers should note the fact that Trump’s statement would not be uttered by a narcissist.

Luther Strange is a sitting Senator. Trump is not stupid.

Yes I support Moore. But I don’t blame Trump for his endorsement. He needs the votes right now. Nothing wrong with it.

Donald Trump Admits: ‘I Might Have Made a Mistake’ in Endorsing Luther Strange Over Judge Roy Moore

President Trump, not being a longtime politician (that's a positive), might occasionally not recognize one of the millions of Swamp GOPee chameleon bureaucrats for who he is, but he learns quickly and is candid.

Balderdash. He’s just another gambler hedging his bets.
Trump is a full-time one. He did make a BIG unforgettable mistake, and won’t admit it flat out, even when everybody knows it.

This is not so much him indicating he might have made a mistake as uping the price for Trump supporters who are thinking about voting for Roy Moore. He is saying you will hurt me if you don’t vote for Strange.

Thank you for posting this. Things have been so heated and partisan I was not ready to believe these remarks when they were just reported by Breitbart. I am glad to have heard them form President Trump directly.

I suspect Trump went “Strange” as a way to put McConnell on the HOOK for getting behind elements of Trump’s agenda. So far as I could tell, Moore is STILL ahead in the polling and Trump was aware of that. His remark during the rally seems to indicate that was the plan.
If it fails to pull McConnell in, you can bet that will be the last time Trump tries to get an IOU from Meathead McConnell.

Donald Trump has the spine to say this and avoid having a stain follow him through history, like the stain that is John McCain still clinging to Sarah Palin after she campaigned for his re-election. I have to say, again, I am impressed by Trump.

A REAL politician would never admit he was wrong. Ever. About anything.

Thank God Donald Trump is not a REAL politician.

Actually, our Sarah Palin made a huge mistake endorsing McCain, back then.

I do hope Roy Moore wins but he was on Mark Levin’s radio show last night and was less than impressive. I really wish Mo Brooks was in the runoff against Luther Strange (what a name).

You could be right. However, I don’t think you are. This is a question of Trump’s character as you can see, and to have more information we would need to see how he reacts to his mistakes in private.

I will say that I think knowledge of a person’s character can be obtained by observing broad patterns over time as well as subtle hints in his speech mixed in with with the more apparent clues.

I’m in Alabama and will vote for Moore but he’s said some things in the past that were really not smart. Could a DINO beat him in Alabama? Unlikely but possible. Don’t know much about his opponent.
Strange wins for sure. I don’t fault Trump’s choice.

I’m not buying that. Show me one other example where Trump is looking for sympathy votes.

I’m referring to intuition in that last part. Everyone uses theirs every time they interact with others.

I think the anti-Trumpers either ignore their own intuition telling them Trump has a profoundly moral character, or they don’t have this sort of intuition. (Of maybe they’ve never interacted with people from Queens.)

I agree with you.

If I lived in Alabama I'd be supporting Moore, but I also recognize that he could present some problems in the U.S. Senate that Strange is not likely to have. Think of the difference between Rand Paul (who I really like) and your normal run-of-the-mill GOP senator who is willing to quietly compromise and cut deals.
