President Trump said Friday that Roy Moore, the challenger to Sen Luther Strange for the Republican Senate nomination in Alabama, would be more likely to lose the general election to the Democratic candidate.

"I have to say this-Luther will definitely win. Roy has a very good chance of not winning-in the general election" Trump said during a rally in Huntsville, Ala on Friday in honor of Strange ahead of Tuesday's GOP primary runoff......

Take it to the bank. Trump will return to Alabama to campaign for Roy Moore to be elected in November.

Trump’s new Alabama pick can’t possibly be worse than his last one..

You’d be very wrong on that. Sessions was an excellent senator. He was almost alone in standing up to illegal immigration, foreign “refugees” dumped on us, and TPP. He took the leadership role on all those issues. He even had to fight his own party.

Now I wouldn’t say he’s been excellent as Attorney General but he was absolutely an excellent senator.

Trump presents a weak argument. Strange could also lose! What I hear him saying is he would rather work with swamp creatures than real conservatives. Disappointing. Also disappointing is why Trump doesn’t ask the senate leader wus to take away leadership roles from senators that don’t support Trump’s agenda. Where the hell is a guy like Sam Rayburn when you need one; Sam knew how to control his people even though they were demorats!

I agree. Trump said he would campaign for Roy if Big Luther lost. Trump rewards loyalty and decency and Luther was loyal to Trump when others made Trump pay to play for their vote.

Hillary must have trained the GOP with her pay to play process. Loyalty and decency are rare in the DC swamp. Trump implied it sickens him to have to eat dinner and spend all day taking pictures with the Senators and all their kin to get a vote swing.

Roy is a grandstanding clown show. Roy placed a 5000+ pound monument in a state government building. It was not Roy's building. And this was not what he was elected to do. He had to be removed from office ... a second time. He was elected to lead the Alabama Supreme court but then he created his own dog and pony show. If Roy wins a seat in the senate, I think it will be a win for democrats and the liberal media. Roy will be their go to man to make the right look like bozos. That said, I don't like Luther Strange either. How we got where we are is because some foolish people thinking they're voting for their faith instead of a person to serve in the senate. Roy Moore wouldn't bring anything productive to the senate -- just more nonsense.

Trump should have never gotten into this race. The media will blame him when Strange loses Tuesday even though he, Alabama and America win with Moore.

Moore is electable because its Alabama. If it were Pennsylvania where I live you could make an argument.

Moore will be under intense attack before the December 12th General Election for the seat.

Antifa disruption, threats from business and banking to leave like happened with Brexit over in the UK, the worst kind of smear campaigns imaginable.

They’ll spend 50 million dollars to take him out I believe.

And sadly the hatred of Roy Moore that will be spread in the media will inspire the “few cards short of a full deck” crowd out there to consider and maybe attempt assassination.

coupled with his clear leftward turn, this confirms he is anti limited government and anti constitutional. Or maybe it’s deeper.
Electability over principles.. just wow!

When I read the articles title it was something that I had suspected, I suspect a lot. It’s not that I think Roy Moore is unelectable in the general election. I suspect that President Trump has been given bad advice by the REAPErs (new acronym: Republican Establishment Appeasing Political Elitist). I suspect there may even be internal poling that shows that Moore can’t win the general election. I suspect that those poles are as fake as last years presidential election poling, as I said I suspect a lot.

My profile shows I’m in FL, but I’ve been in AL for a few years. My take is that regardless of who wins the republican run off, the republican will win in the general. As anecdotal evidence when I voted in the primary I signed the republican ledger to vote in the republican primary, I signed on line 473. I glanced at the democratic ledger; the last signature was on line 37. Granted that’s in northern AL, but still with sort of difference in turn out I just don’t see a democrat winning.

I can point to LOTS of swamp creatures who lied about repeal.

Moore is on record saying he wants repeal.

It’s so nice the media is using Trump’s comments to help Luther Strange. They must really prefer him to won that Moore.

I am not sure why Trump is supporting Strange, unless he is trying to appease the RINO’s - which is disappointing. They stab him in the back constantly.

‘You can figure that it’ll be lucky if one-million folks show up and vote. This works better for the GOP than the Democrats.’

I’m a lightweight on specific info, but I agree. Moore brings energy, and more energy is needed during an off-year race.

BTW, in Virginia, Gillespie is pounding HARD with radio ads. Corruption, sanctuary cities. I think he’s going to win the governorship there. His primary did him a lot of good.

Strange has legislatively supported Trump, or so I’ve ‘heard’. Trump owes him I guess.

But I’m am all in for Judge Roy Moore!
