Really? You expect me to buy that as the genuine reason rather than the more obvious "a speech writer wrote a good line" possibility? Because the whole "he's not a swamp creature even though all the other swamp creatures love him and hate the real non-swamp creature" argument defies logic.

After reading Post 21, Trump has moral cause to recuse his support of Strange. Only someone deeply corrupt would expect Trump to remain loyal.
All Trump needs to say is, “He has problems to answer. He refused to answer those problems. I assume he’s innocent, but I can’t in good conscience support him anymore. Vote for Judge Roy Moore.”
What matters is, Moore will votes great big NO on DACA amnesty. Luther Strange will vote yes on DACA amnesty.
He is a fat cat lobbyist with a 500,000 condo in DC .

By re-election time no one on earth will be able to lay a glove on Trump when it comes to that job requirement. You’d have to dig up Ike’s remains and prop it up to compare. And even then, I don’t think Ike had to be as hands-on the way a modern president does.
As long as the Akin moment speaks to his constituents, who understand things through heaven’s eyes (yes I just watched the movie Prince of Egypt), he’ll be fine.
Now that Trump repaid Strange, he can still rethink his support due to Strange’s scandal. See post 21.

The Strange Swamp Creature!
Total misread of the situation.
Strange was supposed to be investigating Governor Robert Bentley for misuse of government funds. Bentley was having an affair and used state funds to reward his mistress. Even worse, she was a state employee. Bentley turned out to be a sleaze-ball.
Strange would not investigate, seriously, and there is growing evidence he obstructed the investigation. When Sessions resigned to accept the AG spot, Bentley rewarded Strange with the Senate Appointment.
Within a few weeks, Bentley resigned in disgrace. Kay Ivey, the Lt Governor, assumed the office of Governor. Almost immediately, she served notice that a special election would be held immediately to fill the interim Senate appointment.
LUTHER STRANGE IMMEDIATELY RAN TO MITCH McCONNEL TO GET SUPPORT FOR HIS CAMPAIGN TO WIN THE SEAT PERMANENTLY.
McConnell has spent MILLIONS campaigning against Roy Moore in Alabama. The ONLY way Strange will win is due to the scorched earth huge money that McConnell is spending for Strange. McConnell is building his support in the Senate. Luther Strange will do what McConnell wants, not what Trump wants.
I don’t know what conversations and deals that Trump thinks he has made with Mitch McConnell, but Strange will NOT be Trumps’s ally in Congress. He will be McConnell’s stooge.
Sort of like how Ted Cruz would not being able to win against Hillary??
