Rep. Mo Brooks struck back against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Saturday, endorsing former judge Roy Moore over Sen. Luther Strange in the Alabama Senate special election 10 days before Election Day.
Brooks, who finished third in round one of the Aug. 15 special GOP primary contest after sustaining million of dollars in political attacks from a super PAC connected to McConnell, made clear that his antipathy toward the Senate majority leader was a motivating factor behind his endorsement of Moore, the former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
"The Strange/McConnell forces care not one twit about truth; they freely use malicious lies in their non-stop, scorched earth, campaign of personal destruction," Brooks said during a Moore campaign event, according to a press release issued by the congressman's campaign.
"The Senate race comes down to this: we are in an epic battle between the people of Alabama who put America First and the Washington Swamp that hopes to buy Alabama's Senate seat and put America second."

Trump’s guy isn’t doing well?
This should give Moore a bump..
This is part of draining the swamp.
McConnell’s guy isn’t either.
Trump hasn’t endorsed either candidate FOR THE RUNOFF. Trump will be ecstatic when Moore prevails in the runoff.
I don’t believe Strange was officially Trumps guy.
I think he endorsed him so Brooks would lose.
ROY MOORE for SENATE LEADER
“Trump hasnt endorsed either candidate FOR THE RUNOFF. Trump will be ecstatic when Moore prevails in the runoff.”
Exactly! Trump really had no choice at the time he “endorsed” Strange. I will bet you though, privately, Trump considered having to “endorse” Strange an anathema, and that he will personally welcome Judge Moore to the Senate, now that the fat’s in the fire with Bitch. Just hope that Judge Moore can keep his “religious tongue” in check until after he’s elected, because we desperately need him.
About darn time, I was wondering if they had gotten to Mo.
Trump backed off McConnell’s favorite candidate awhile back.
Trump never took away his endorsement of Strange. He only took a minor step to make nice with Moore, when he realized his guy would lose.
If he was trying to do that, he would have been better served by endorsing Moore. But Trump endorsed Strange, so he is admittedly his guy.
Trump: It goes like this aw shucks Mitch too bad Strange lost. Oh well...
Yeah, Brooks saw the momentum for Moore and now, at this late date, has decided to endorse. Bold move. /s
