Roy Moore: 9/11 Was Punishment for U.S. Turning Away From God
Breitbart ^ | September 14, 2017 | Jeff Poor

A story by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski and Nathan McDermott published on Thursday features a video showing former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore suggesting the September 11, 2001 terror attacks may have taken place because the country had distanced itself from God.

Moore, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, made the remarks at the Open Door Baptist Church in Enterprise, AL in February. He read from Isaiah 30:12-13 and made the connection.

I’ve heard rabbis say the same thing about Jews and the Holocaust, destruction of Jerusalem Temple, etc. It may well be true. God works on a different level and we cannot see his ultimate purpose. SAYING so, however, as a political figure? Not smart.

Unfortunately, a lot of nutbagsmare about to put him in the senate.

Mo Brooks was the best choice but didn’t make the runoff. Instead we’re faced with Roy Moore or Mitch McConnell’s Luther Strange.

Presumptuous to speak for God outside of what God has already said.

He would have been on safe ground affirming God will give your country up to foreigners if you turn your back on him.

I did. Mitch’s senate PAC and GOPe money screwed this one up.

Moore was way ahead in the polls, not so much now.

Look at the areas that were hit - NYC and DC. There might be some truth to that statement.

Who knows? Nobody can really know the mind of God. Perhaps we will after we pass.

But saying so publicly will not help him be elected. It makes him seem like a loon.

I don’t think blaming the U.S. for 9/11 is a winning theme.

Being backed by the GOPe/McConnell balanced against an inopportune use of Scripture? My money is on the good people of Alabama to make the right call.

Personally... I despise when people say such stupid stuff. Seriously... I knew a family who had a Down Syndrome baby. The old Great Aunt said, “God must be punishing you because of something you did”. WTH?! I guess I was raised that God cries with you... God doesn’t point a finger and cause that type of pain/suffering... especially on an innocent child.

Interesting take. So what's your beef with Roy Moore? He's a fighter with a track record of years of street cred. He's is a throwback to the early days of the Republic, in that he doesn't need the job; he wants to serve. Roy Moore is the real deal, a constitutional conservative.

I smell RINO panic. I do not think attacking Roy Moore for being too hard core of a Christian is a winning formula for the corrupt Luther Strange. We are talking about a Republican primary in Alabama.
