Why Evangelicals Are Sticking with Donald Trump
American Thinker ^ | September 12, 2017 | Trevor Thomas

The Never-Trumpers of every stripe still don’t get it. Ten months after his historic defeat of Hillary Clinton, those opposed to Donald Trump -- whether from the political right, left, or middle -- have yet to grasp why so many Americans -- especially evangelical Americans -- have embraced, or at least tolerate, the politics of the Man from Manhattan. As my wife (and chief editor) pointed out when I began this piece, “It’s really a no-brainer. There was no other option.” But nevertheless, to those dulled by their disdain for Mr. Trump, let me explain again our continued support for him.

First, let me make this abundantly clear: as passionate as we are about our politics, we understand well that the cure for what ails this nation, and this world, is as far above politics as the north is above the south. Dwight Eisenhower put it well when he declared, “Never let yourself be persuaded that any one Great Man, any one leader, is necessary to the salvation of America.” Thus, when we pull the lever, or tap the screen, for any man or woman, for any political office, our expectations for what they can or can’t accomplish are always tempered by the notion that our real problems are spiritual and require spiritual solutions.

Of course, such thinking stands in stark contrast to those who have put their hope in the things and the people of this world. As I’ve noted before, the left is so devoted to politics and political power because that is the chief means by which they hope to make the world into their idea of “heaven.” Virtually every dictator to rise to power has done so by promising some version of a leftist utopia. The twentieth century is replete with such tragic examples.

I’m not an evangelical, but who else will I stick to?

The loathsome and felonious democrats?
The loathsome, double dealing, and POS Republicans?

Sorry, but it’s Trump.

Much to the left wing’s chagrin. They thought that stupid TMZ video would run people off. But it didn’t. Evangelicals got smart and canny.

Unlike Humanists who believe that man can be made perfect through laws and social engineering, we accept man as flawed sinners. So, they focus on Trump the man and think that he is too far gone to be made perfect in their way. We focus on Trump’s Mission and all the divine interventions required to bring us to this point. We see a flawed man who is trying to live out a calling and not trying to invent a legacy.

Also, we recognize that America was founded by divine inspiration through a specific sequence of events while the Humanists see it as a barrier to progress.

article quote:
“It’s really a no-brainer. There was no other option.”

That is exactly right.
DJT is, and never was, an evangelical’s dream candidate, nor was he ever a conservative’s dream candidate. He was, however, probably the only “R” who had enough money, public recognition, and stage presence/charisma to beat the reported $2 BILLION of SorozNazi and Muslim/Arab IslamoNazi dictators’ money she collected. Plus, she (or rather, her financiers) controlled (and still control) the American mass media....

to overcome all THAT, DJT appeared (to me, anyway, and many others) to be the “best chance of beating HilLIARy” candidate.

And, he wants to do some good things, so.....let’s all try to support him whenever he really does get around to DRAINING THE NAZI-IslamoNazi-Soroz-infested SWAMP (WashDC generally, but Snake Depart, Defense, Intelligence, and security agencies are the most critical so should be Drained of their seditious, enemy-agent infestations FIRST).

Getting back to the article, tho, YES, DJT looked like a good man (despite his visible flaws, and who doesn’t have some?)........ and CERTAINLY 1000 PERCENT BETTER than HilLIARy! There was no choice....

ps: if the D’s ever nominate someone reasonably loyal and honest, tho, the R party (ESPECIALLY IF THE RINOS ARENOT CLEARED OUT)...will be in BIG TROUBLE again! Big big trouble!

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

yes i understand your point

the D’s nowadays seem to be STUCK on the worst possible
candidates they can find, either in USA (HilLIARy, FakeAHaunches, Gore, several more duds...) or from overseas or outer space (Obama)

but IF they were to nominate someone respectable, even with politics I wouldn’t like, just someone reasonably honest and sane..........the D’s could win again. There being SO much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ backing them (from the Muslim dictators, SorozNazi, and several more problematical sources included). This is why, imho, we so desperately need to retire the 6 or 8 worst RINO sellouts.....if only to demonstrate to the American voters that the R label is not toxic anymore. DJT managed to crack thru that barrier but.....I think....he was one of perhaps very very few people who could do it...we need to clean up the R brand now, before the next election cycle begins
