Ridiculous.

I’m old enough to be his grandmother and my grandmotherly advice to him would be,”Stop whining,if you don’t like the tailgating atmosphere, don’t go.”

“Ole Miss senior Francisco Hernandez bemoans that tailgates at his university are perpetuating racial oppression because of the presence of the Mississippi state flag.”

Hey, Francisco, the state flag is the least of your worries. Don’t plan on bringing your chips and guacamole to a tailgater—it’ll trigger me and I won’t be responsible for any hurt feelings you might experience getting to your safe zone.

The institution is the culmination of the work of generations of those past and for the generations of those to come. Not the current crop of whiny revolutionary brats who currently “occupy” the campus.

If they make it too nice for them, the current crop may never want to leave!

I was surprised in San Francisco one 4th of July weekend approaching, a young girl on the phone said, and I want ribs this year, no barbecued tofu - I wanted to kiss her.

Of course she cannot say that now, ribs are racist.

Chitluns are hard to serve from off a tailgate

Many, many years ago,I,a 19 year old kid from the Northeast, reported to Fort Knox for BCT.Among the many new, mysterious, experiences I had there was trying grits for the first time.

There's yet to be a second time.

Don't know if they ever served me chitluns...there was some pretty mysterious looking stuff on my tray while there!

I'm not a big fan of ribs...except,maybe,for *prime* rib.I *love* fried chicken *and* watermelon.Given that I'm as "white" as they come I wonder if that absolves me of my intrinsically racist makeup.

“The coat of arms is associated with genocidal treatment of the native people's of America.”

Yes, what about the 11,000,000 black slaves purchased from Muslim slavers and African chiefs, and then transported to the new world. The Spanish (1,600,000) and Portuguese (4,650,000) were the major players in the slave trade, all in an effort to support their colonies. The total number of slaves brought to America was 500,000, the remaining 10,500,000 went to the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

Notice, it was Portugal, Spain, France, Holland, Britain and Denmark that were the major players in the slave trade. Do they blame these countries, the Muslim slave traders, or the African Chiefs for their ancestors plight? No.

They go after the US. The one country whose founding document says all men are created equal. The one country that ended slave trade in 1807, eighteen years after the ratification of our Constitution creating the US. The one country where a massive civil was was fought, one of the causes being slavery.

And yet at the same time they glorified Obama, who was a direct descendant of a Muslim slave trader, and whose white ancestors owned slaves. The slaves taken from Kenya died generally within 6 years of being enslaved, because they were shipped east to Muslim lands. The men were castrated to prohibit them from having children, and the women were used as sex slaves. Talk about genocide.

“Bias is not a bad-word. It means preference, nothing more.”

Ditto for “discrimination”. It’s actially good to be discriminating.

LOL...you have a fine eye for perceiving injustices, my friend! Maybe those briquettes are from the “Michael Jackson Charcoal Company.”

Don’t push me. I’m considering reparations for black briquettes, and I just want it on the record. No briquettes were harmed during the filming of “Thriller”.

Well said. I remember when I was a kid in the 60’s hearing about “students” demanding this and that. At the time I thought, well the stew-dents will grow up and then they will have real answers and no longer demand things. Well that never happened!

These snowflakes need a major butt kicking.

They'll get one Sept. 30th when they play Alabama.

Sigh. Dixie With Love is gone. Now the Grove is under attack. What’s next, Hotty Toddy?

Don't forget the flag and Colonel Reb, they're both gone too. You can bet your ass that before Vitter is finished that the Grove and even the name "Ole Miss" will be gone too. The diehard football fans are a a thorn in Vitter's side. They are the last vestiges of what used to be at Ole Miss and they must be quashed at any cost. Oh, and I don't look for the Confederate monument on campus to last much longer either. Ole Miss is gone. It is now full bore, occupied Commieland. Old times there are now forgotten look away, look away, look away...

old joke a hispanic friend in Colorado told me:

Question: Why don’t hispanics like to barbeque on the grill like gringos do?

Answer: The beans keep falling through the grate.

Grits (polenta too) are great. I wouldn’t base my opinion on mess hall cuisine.
You have to know how to cook them. I’m certain that skill was lost to the fellow in charge of them that day.

BTW - I’ve had grits at mom and pop diners in rural Maine.

There’s an art to grits although they’re simple to cook. They should have a consistency somewhat close to creamed potatoes, enough body to hold a pool of butter or gravy. The best ones are made with a little cream and the longer they simmer the better they are. Think of polenta as finely ground grits, which is what they really are. That usually helps recalcitrant northerners accept them.

Chitlins, however, are another matter. It was one poor, hungry SOB who first ate chitlins. They smell just exactly like what they are, no matter how much they’ve been cleaned or how they’re prepared. If I were that poor I’d rather eat wild game. Intestines just don’t do it for me.

He should just walk around and enjoy the scenery. I saw a picture of some Ole Miss students from last weekend. The young females are all dressed for their honeymoon night. Oh. Wait. They were wearing their nighties to the football game and to The Grove. This one female was wearing this thing that, well, she may as well have been topless.
