If it’s fall in Mississippi, it’s football season. That means it’s time to tailgate: an opportunity to grill food, drink beer and spend time with friends before the big game. And apparently an opportunity to increase racial tensions too, according to a University of Mississippi student.
In an op-ed published in The Daily Mississippian, Ole Miss senior Francisco Hernandez bemoans that tailgates at his university are perpetuating racial oppression because of the presence of the Mississippi state flag.

Bias is not a bad-word. It means preference, nothing more. It’s not good to be biased in an objective investigation, one is biased against bias in that case. Otherwise it’s a basic function of live down to one-celled animals, attraction vs. aversion.

And since he’s from Spain he’s not actually a minority - he’s a White European. I think he’s just mad that there’s no tailgating in soccer.
Oh…it’s just another snowflake hissy-fit over a flag. At least the White Mississippi football fans aren’t being asked to invite Blacks to their tailgating parties. That would be rather unpopular. Rather.

It always cracks me up when people say things like, “That’s discrimination!”
I say, “So. I am in IT. Most of what computers do is discriminate. Whenever you make a choice you are discriminating. Discrimination is 90% of what both brains and computers do. Quit referring to it as though it is a bad thing. It is a good thing. Maybe of more people discriminated a little better there would be less divorce.”
In keeping with a seemingly popular national trend just give minorities their own sections for tailgating

This perpetual state of unhinged grievance on college campuses nationwide is creating a hostile environment for rational people.
I never enjoyed tailgating. Too many vehicles parked too close together. Then there’s the young punks throwing the football. Rich food consumed too early in the day an hour b4 kickoff. For big bucks($80) an RV area was available-an excuse to use them. A lot of those people didn’t even go into the stadium. Enjoyed listening to the crowd. My reaction to all that is the same as the Burning Man Festival: “Oh What a Country!”
Isn’t Spain like a devolved version of Mexico or something?
