A bipartisan group of senators plans to introduce a resolution that "[rejects] white nationalists, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis, and other hate groups" and send the document to President Trump's desk, per Politico.
The sponsors: Democratic Sens. Mark Warner and Tim Kaine and Republican Sens. Cory Gardner and Johnny Isakson The mechanism: The Senate often takes up symbolic resolutions honoring people on their birthdays, for example that don't reach the president's desk. However, the senators behind this one have chosen to style it as a joint resolution, meaning it will require Trump's signature.
Why it matters: It forces Trump to go on the record condemning hate groups something he halfheartedly did in the days after Charlottesville.
It won't.
One genetic line, and one genetic line only, is the source of all of the evil in the world.
Everyone who is of that line is a Privileged Oppressor.
Therefor, everyone who is of that line needs to be repudiated, disdained, erased, and replaced.
- according to the prevailing ideology -
Trump will probably add a long signing statement, wherein he condemns Antifa, BLM, BAMN, and the rest as violent leftist thugs. Just to watch heads explode.
Yes, this stinks of a trap to target only specific groups and not others. I’m curious about the language, if this is something targeting free speech or alike. This is a waste of time unless somebody has a specific agenda that is not obvious.
Only those labeled with the color of the purest new-fallen snow have inherited sin.
Everything that those people have should be taken from them, and given to diverse people, with every school teaching that the Snow People should be cursed profusely every day until they have all been destroyed.
- this is the current culture -
18 U.S. Code § 241 - Conspiracy against rights
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or42 U.S. Code § 1985 - Conspiracy to interfere with civil rightsIf two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured

(3) Depriving persons of rights or privilegesAll that needs to happen is for Sessions to order US Marshals to go, in plainclothes, to the next event where a conservative speaker is scheduled (eg, Ann Coulter), and start arresting any masked Antifas they find.If two or more persons in any State or Territory conspire or go in disguise on the highway or on the premises of another, for the purpose of depriving, either directly or indirectly, any person or class of persons of the equal protection of the laws, or of equal privileges and immunities under the laws; or for the purpose of preventing or hindering the constituted authorities of any State or Territory from giving or securing to all persons within such State or Territory the equal protection of the laws; or if two or more persons conspire to prevent by force, intimidation, or threat, any citizen who is lawfully entitled to vote, from giving his support or advocacy in a legal manner, toward or in favor of the election of any lawfully qualified person as an elector for President or Vice President, or as a Member of Congress of the United States; or to injure any citizen in person or property on account of such support or advocacy; in any case of conspiracy set forth in this section, if one or more persons engaged therein do, or cause to be done, any act in furtherance of the object of such conspiracy, whereby another is injured in his person or property, or deprived of having and exercising any right or privilege of a citizen of the United States, the party so injured or deprived may have an action for the recovery of damages occasioned by such injury or deprivation, against any one or more of the conspirators.
I’m curious if the resolution defines the terms. According to liberals, a white supremacist is anyone who doesn’t feel guilty over white privilege.
That would be SO GREAT...throw it right back into their faces! Republicans have no business siding with Democrats to tear down Trump, especially when Trump is right about an issue!
Write it in with a signing statement. Thru can’t do a thing about that. Also write in the signing statement that no healthcare reform has been passed.
Grandstanding idiots. Why not add the southern law center, the aclu, antifa, blm andother hate groups? Idiots.
As long as AntiFa, the BLM, and the BLM are listed, I got no problems.
——————————————————————————————Would also need to add CAIR, La Raza and Muslim Brotherhood.
this stupid resolution should also specifically condemn Black Lies Matter, La Raza, ADL, SPLC, and all the other left-wing hate groups.
What it should do and what it will do are two different things.
I notice it doesn’t condemn the pAntifags, Black Liars Movement, La Raza, MeCha, Black Pampers, or any other of the militant arms of the demonicRAT Party.
and then Donald Trump will ban the democrat party which created and still supports the KKK. See Robert Byrd.
And that is surprising how?
Have they included a rider to rescind the First Amendment, too? These groups are dreadful, but I believe they have the right to believe and say anything they please. Going down this path is dangerous.
Rescind? No. But give them time and they may condemn it along with the KKK and Nazis.
Trump should sign the resolution, after adding Only Black Lives Matter, Antifa, the SPLC, the NAALCP, La Raza, MEChA, and the Congressional Black Caucus to the list of groups to be condemned.
