Roy Moore and Sen. Luther Strange are locked in a neck-and-neck battle in their runoff race in Alabama, according to a poll released Tuesday that also shows President Trump is very popular among likely runoff voters.

Mr. Moore, former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, holds a 47 percent to 45 percent edge over Mr. Strange in the survey from Harper Polling of 600 likely runoff voters that carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

The runoff race is slated for Sept. 26.

Close to four in 10 poll respondents said they want a candidate that has demonstrated “strong support for President Trump,” compared to 27 percent who said they want a candidate with”conservative values,” and 11 percent who said they want someone who is willing to “fight the Republican establishment in Washington.”

The poll found that 87 percent of likely voters viewed Mr. Trump in a favorable light.

Roy Moore is the real deal. He has promised to fight hard against McConnell and the GOPe.

Judge Moore is fighting a hard, uphill battle against the big money available to McConnell and Strange. I have supported Judge Moore financially and urge all FReepers and their friends to do the same.

We need more people like Judge Moore in the so-nothing Senate.

Yes, my prayers go out to Judge Moore.

This is a fight for Christian civilization.

Please tell me that Alabama does not allow crossover voting.

If DJT didn’t open his mouth for Strange this would be a 10-point lead NOW for Moore. He got snookered by the GOP-E on this one.

Mcconnell just gave 2 million to start negative ads on judge Moore. I can’t stand him.

Moore’s dynamics here lies with the Baptist community in the state. Strange has the problem of association with Bentley and corruption. Add to this...it’s a primary meeting and less people showing up. Polling doesn’t mean much...unless the guy really does show up.

It does. However I hear the democrats want to run against judge Moore so it might work to our advantage for a change.

About a week ago, Judge Moore had alleged the following disturbing information.
"The frontrunner in Alabama’s U.S. Senate race with 39 percent of the vote, Moore alleges that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is trying to steal the election by letting Democrats vote in Alabama’s Republican primary.” —Alabama Judge Roy Moore Reveals Shocking New Info On Senate Race

I have doubts about this poll. Moore had a solid lead 2 days ago and nothing has happened to change that.

Push poll=Fake poll.
70% of GOP primary voters voted against Strange.
There is no way Strange is 2 points behind Moore.

He’s a is it that Mitch has 2 million to throw to take out Moore? So if Moore wins he will have been damaged by McConell. I just loathe that prick.

Strange has likely gained from his association with McC, who is also a native of AL. People in AL often vote lockstep for the incumbent. I hope this time they go with Judge Moore, but so many are grossly uninformed.

I voted for Moore twice but he didn't stay in the offices that I voted him into.

There is no way Brook’s 20% voters are aligning with McConnell.
Not after McConnell trashed Mo Brooks.
70% of primary voters voted against Strange.

The Uniparty will do whatever is necessary to keep another Cheap Labor Express stooge in the Senate.

They want their amnesty for illegal aliens and their employers to solidify their 50 year plan to replace Americans with “new” Americans.

Roy Moore has been fighting in the trenches for years, nothing against Strange but Moore deserves to win.

He was kicked out of the offices for not backing down. If he had rolled over, he would have maintained his office. But I am sure you already know that, living in Alabama.

He can’t be kicked out of the Senate.
