didn't have a chance to view the video. I heard a liberal recently complain that Osteen wasn't opening his church to help the homeless. (I didn't argue, as I think Osteen is not a good representative of Christian leadership.)

Nice to see Osteen HAS opened his doors though.

The lib whiner I met, though, insisted that MUSLIMS are opening up mosques to people of all religions in the Houston area. Can anyone verify that, or was the lib bloviating?

Completely unnecessary negative PR for Osteen. Foolish move to shut it down in the first place.

As to the Muslims letting infidels in - I sincerely doubt it.

Lets see....basement garage flooded, 6" of water in the lobby. Yeah, go ahead and help yourselves. You'll need a boat to get there and ladder to breach the 2nd floor for dry space.

No negative publicity for larger churches (1st and 2nd Baptist which are triple the size of Joel's place).

I think Olsteen should have rented some storage units, that were in no danger of being flooded, instead.

If it’s the Osteen I know he’s probably charging at the door.

Thanks for posting. If accurate, this gives credence to Osteen’s reason for not opening.

Yes, that is what I understand about the mosques. Should be a simple and obvious move for them all to make.

So a TV preacher can’t figure out how to effectively get the message out as to why he is not opening his church? FB is OK but Osteen should of know this story was going to get a negative spin.

....Osteen should have known this story was going to get a negative spin.

You'd think. Every tragedy has organizations that should have known better yet still do stuff that gets them bad publicity. Osteen wins the prize for this one. I'm surprised he wasn't PR-savvy enough to have a pre-emptive plan, renting some building out of the flood zone and set up a center for evacuees. He would've probably more than paid for it with donations from the publicity.

It's baffling.

Incidentally, the other day Osteen cancelled a huge upcoming event at the new Atlanta ballpark, citing mysterious “logistical issues”.

Cohpled with this flood PR misstep I would say there is something going on behind the scenes with his business. I’d look for need to break soon of a scandal or financial woes.

As I understand it, the church was also flooded and that’s why folks weren’t allowed in. Maybe, just maybe, they were able to clear the church of water and make it usable by the evacuees.

Agreed it’s a lib media set up .Where are those lovin Muslims opening doors.
They would have to hide there weapons and bombs stash is they did that.

I think Pastor is concerned he is not serving his flock but bus loads of
Inner city dead beats and illegals who will set up a full time residence at his church for years .

Once he lets that crowd in they will never leave and the press will attack him once he makes them leave.

The Katrina crowd set up shop in places for years .

I think you are reaching here.
The church may not have power or its damaged ?

Since when do left wing church bashers right here?
Why are you piling on ?

Lots of right wingers can’t stand the Osteen types.

I got no use for the huckster and simply pointed out he has had other issues too lately.

I won’t consider any more of your whining to me on the subject.
