The BBC's Soft Bigotry of Low Expectations (news in Pidgin)(video only)

No. This not a joke. It's real. The BBC has apparently decided Africans are simply too stupid to be expected to learn normal English. So, the news will now be delivered to them in Pidgin as if it is a real language.

Would they ever deliver the news in Cockney? How about Leprechaun? Or maybe a heavy redneck Southern drawl?

I fully expect the New York Times to be available in Ebonics soon. They can't have the BBC showing them up.

I googled it to see if it was really real, and...un-freaking-believably, it is.

Leftists: That’s right. No Lingua Franca! Proper English is the White man’s tongue. Let’s make broken English an officially recognized language. IT’S AS LEGITIMATE AS ANY OTHER LANGUAGE! And if you disagree - you’re racist!

Papiamento (Chatting, a Chat), a language with only 850,000 speakers, in the Netherlands Antilles, Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba, a combination of Portuguese, African, Spanish and Hebrew.

Atardi Kòrsou ta bunita
Ora ku solo ta baha
Ora tur para ta kanta félis
Promé ku nan bai sosega

Atardi para kant’i playa
Un goso ta jena nos alma
Ta manera nos isla ta hal’un roséa
P’e jama e dia ayo

Pero atardi tambe tin tristesa
Or’e dia ta jega su fin
Ta manera un parti di nos ta bajendo y jamás nos lo bolbe miré

Curaçao’s evening is beautiful / when the sun is setting / the birds chirp happily / before they retire to rest

Sunset against the beach shore / fills our soul with joy / like our island takes a breath / to bid the day farewell

But evening also brings sadness / when another day comes to an end / like a part of us disappears / never to be seen again.

As stupid as it seems I am not sure BBC is right. Of course if Fox News did this it would be deemed racist

Little Orphant Annie's come to our house to stay,
An' wash the cups an' saucers up, an' brush the crumbs away,
An' shoo the chickens off the porch, an' dust the hearth, an' sweep,
An' make the fire, an' bake the bread, an' earn her board-an'-keep;
An' all us other children, when the supper-things is done,
We set around the kitchen fire an' has the mostest fun
A-list'nin' to the witch-tales 'at Annie tells about,
An' the Gobble-uns 'at gits you
Ef you
Don't
Watch

I have absolutely NO idea “wetin” to say about “dis”.

Maybe Yoda could translate... “Hmmm... INSANE, they are, yes...”

Radio Australia has been broadcasting Tok Pisin to New Guinea and close by islands for many, many decades. Tok Pisin is now closer to a real creole than just a trade language. There are many creoles around the world, and they all started off as trade languages. This is just another. The BBC just expanded its reach.

There are many creoles based on English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and even German. It makes sense to broadcast in a pigin that reaches tens of millions instead of trying to broadcast in the dozens of local languages.

By the way, BBC broadcasts in 40 different languages. The guy who made this YT is ignorant.

Every news report ends with, "Nah BACK OFF, ya long-eared galoot!"
