Are we going to be the party of, "I don't like your fees and taxes, so I'm getting my gun!?"

I know it sounds horrible to you, and probably overly radical, but in that one sentence you described the American Revolution.

WOW!

I really haven’t been following this, because I thought the fix was in.

It’s great to hear that the founders’ legal system can still kick @ss!

You REALLY are way behind the truth on this one.

Way way lost. Read some of the links I posted.

I agree with you on everything you wrote. My alarms go off with the armed protest part though.

I favor public lands. I hate the BLM. I am no environmentalist, and agree that Americans are more important than turtles.

However, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Do we want armed protests to become the standard? When the left feels particularly passionate about their side, and they do, are we OK with them bringing weapons?

I think it's a good idea to think this whole thing through very carefully. I believe the framers intended free speech, not free-fire.

Excellent post. Thank you.
Most people showed up to remind the federal government that they still answer to We the People. They do need to be reminded......

Bingo!

And God Bless this jury. Trump exposed the Deep State (and their PUPPET media) and the people have become aware of their evil.

“For all those cheering for the defendants: Just how should the government enforce grazing on public lands? If these guys can just give them the finger and refuse to pay their fees, should law enforcement just give them a thumbs up?”

If you really think that what you wrote above is what this was all about, I have a bridge to sell you. This was all about Harry Reid and his land deals and the asshole former staffer he managed to get installed as the head of the BLM. As far as “screwing the cops,” when they break the laws they are sworn to uphold you betcha! And that goes double for the armed thugs in most Federal Agencies, with special emphasis on the BLM. The sad fact of the matter is that virtually EVERY Federal Agency has their own little “police force,” and they should ALL be disbanded.

Since you are not informed about the actual issue, you are forgiven. Now, henceforth do some research before you post.

“Defendant Harry Reid’s hand-picked Director of the Bureau of Land Management, Neil Kornze, a longtime Reid aide, at the direction of Defendant Harry Reid ordered and sent the equivalent of federal storm-troopers to Plaintiff Bundy’s ranch to seize his and his family’s land and capture and/or harm his cattle, at the direction of Defendant Harry Reid.

These so called federal agents proceeded to threaten the lives of Defendant Bundy and his family at gunpoint, abuse and kill their cattle, including burying bulls in secret mass graves, and assaulting and tasing various Bundy family members to force them off the land.”

The suit goes on to say the reason for the raid was to boot Bundy and his family from the property so federal authorities could sell it “for profit and/or kickbacks by and to Defendants Harry Reid and his son Rory Reid, a Las Vegas lawyer in a secret under the table deal, being then negotiated by Defendant Rory Reid on behalf of himself and his father.”

The complaint alleged the elder Reid, “acting in concert with defendants Rory Reid and Obama, each and every one of them, jointly and severally, issued what in effect were public threats to and made false defamatory statements about Defendant Bundy and his family to further his under the table negotiated deal to seize and sell the Bundy ranch and its chattels, including any remaining cattle, for profit and/or kickbacks from the purchaser, some of whom were reported to be communist Chinese.”

The court documents then refer to Reid’s public references of the Bundy family and supporters as “nothing more than domestic terrorists,” a statement that was widely reported by various media outlets back in April of 2014.

Don’t like the laws? They should be changed by through legislation. Just because it is our side does not make breaking the law a glamorous act.

The "laws" you speak of were not being followed by the Federal government in this case. The grazing fees were being set by the Feds to a point well beyond the amount dictated by law. The Bundy's were contesting this in court when the Feds decided to take their cattle to force the issue. Bankruptcy does have a way of limiting your ability to continue pressing your case in court. The Bundy's neighbors stopped this theft of the Bundy's cattle and in the process made the federal gun thugs back down. This embarrassment is why this case and every case having to do with the Bundy's resistance to Federal overreach will be tried again and again until everyone is bankrupt or in jail or likely both.

Note to Federal gun thugs: In future operations, don't setup your command post without securing the high ground around it even if it is a hot day and you want to be in the shade. It really was an embarrassing day for them.

I am trying to remember them all but many many employees of the states they resided in were there. People from Arizona, Washington state, and esp Nevada. Michele Fiore was a hugely involved assemblywoman from Las Vegas.

This was a blatant act of terrorism on the part of the BLM.

Just try reading

Additionally they famously had a small area taped off with a sign on it.

BWah-hahahahahahahahahaha.

When you get back in your time machine and go back to 1988, please take me. The things you believe about 2017 just aren’t happening.

Change the law...to benefit the people...that’s hilarious! In 2017, we have a Republican majority and they side with the Democrats more than they side with the Republican president!

Cliven was prepared to pay his grazing fees - get out of the koolaid.

The feds presented him with a new contract that virtually guaranteed they would confiscate his ranch.

Many of his ranch neighbors had signed and had their ranches taken by the feds.

Even granting everything you said, is it a good idea to engage in armed standoffs with the feds when they come?

Do we really want that to be the ideal response?

How are we any different from passionate leftists shooting cops because they believe they're being treated unfairly and the cops are taking away their rights?

Since the real problem was a political one, that's where our efforts should be focused, not on threatening LEOs.

Probably you would have been protesting the founding fathers as they defied the Brits. And perhaps just as ignorant of the entire event as you are about this one.
