LAS VEGAS (AP) - A federal jury in Las Vegas has refused to convict four accused gunmen in a 2014 standoff with federal authorities near the Nevada ranch of anti-government figure Cliven Bundy.

In a verdict that stunned Bundy supporters, the jury on Tuesday acquitted Ricky Lovelien and Steven Stewart of all 10 charges against them.

For all those cheering for the defendants: Just how should the government enforce grazing on public lands? If these guys can just give them the finger and refuse to pay their fees, should law enforcement just give them a thumbs up?

Is the right all about "screw the cops" now?

The jury did not reach verdicts on four charges against Parker and
two charges against Drexler.

************

So are there any indications that those charges will be tried again?

You apparently drank the koolaid on this one...hopefully someone here has time to educate but it is called Agenda 21 and it is seeking to destroy ranches and farms bigtime under a socialist umbrella.

when I get more time I will try to find some backreading stuff for you.

I am guessing that people in the west are getting leery letting a SJW government persecute their neighbors.
Listen up judges, prosecutors, and attorney generals, when you disrespect and abuse the law regular American on juries are going to be very skeptical of your ethics, your honesty, the LEO/government bureaucrat testimonies and the merits of the law behind the charges. Americans are now very well aware of the ancient right of jury nullification enshrined in English Common Law and are starting to use it.

The choice between ballots or bullets is fast approaching.

From what I understand the government jacked up the grazing fees so high that it was no longer profitable to raise cattle. They were trying to get them off the land.

I remember listening to a live broadcast on the night they surrendered. Does anyone remember the name of the man who seemed a bit disturbed during that event. The interviewer had to keep calming him down.

You know what I would do if somebody trespassed on my land? I’d call the local law enforcement...in this case the local sheriff. I can’t find where in the constitution it allows for the federal government to militarize its agencies and handle LOCAL legal matters by force. Yes...I know it was federal land, but that’s a whole other matter that isn’t allowed for in the constitution.

I expect there have been or should have been some changes in the codes/statutes/regs
but I don’t know. If Bundy is currently paying or not I have no idea.

“Just how should the government enforce grazing on public lands?”

Do you mean “Just how should the government enforce grazing on lands owned by the people of the country?”

For all those cheering for the defendants: Just how should the government enforce grazing on public lands?

The ranchers have grazing rights on these lands that predate the existence of the State and the Territory that preceded it. The grazing fees are by law set at a rate that covers the land's management - and no more. The Federal govt was continually raising the grazing fees well beyond the rate needed to cover the land's management in an effort to force the ranchers out of business. Read up on the subject a little before posting your drivel next time.

If every once in a while an FBI or DEA agent was jailed or fined for disobeying the law then maybe when they actually followed the law we should all support the feds.

But from what I recall, no agents were jailed or fined for Waco, Ruby Ridge, Fast and Furious, etc.

It's time for Trump to pardon Leonard Peltier as a way of giving a finger to an organization that has done as much bad as good over the last few years.

You are missing much of the “nuance” of Federal powerhungry over reach and the influence of corrupt Dingy Harry.

OK, that sucks. But an armed standoff doesn't sound like a particularly smart response.

It was always hippies and leftists who wanted to screw the cops, and it concerns me that I'm hearing that more often from the right. In fact, that was one of the key points of David Horowitz's awakening to conservatism, if you've read his book.

I am NOT an anarchist, and I don't support a "screw the cops" philosophy.
