I might have been sympathetic (/s), had I not seen that he has had since 2009 to get this all sorted out.

And now, in 2017, they are trying to spin this as being the fault of our POTUS. The MSM should be ashamed of their collective despicable selves for spewing this garbage reporting 24/7.

MAGA

How does the “University” give him a scholarship without proper immigration paperwork? It is the University who is guilty of violating our laws.

“Lizandro Claros Saravia was supposed to be at college in North Carolina by now. “

No. He was supposed to be in El Salvador.

Getting a scholarship at Louisburg College does not make one a soccer star! Different if it was Div 1 school like UNC. Fake headline

The way El Salvador played in the recent Gold Cup, they could probably use his help.

...so he can reunite with his parents and his two siblings in the United States.

I don't get it. Why weren't his parents deported at the same time?

Anyone in violation of immigration law can be targeted for deportation.

Which is how it should be my dear Maria. Scholarship or no.

In a lot of third-world countries, you would end up in a hell-hole of a prison unless you can buy your way out. “Respect my authoritie”, so to speak.

In some cases, those who have superior skills and a bit of financial backing view themselves as above the law. In many countries, they ARE above the law. In Thailand, if you can afford a nice Mercedes or a Lamborghini and come from an influential family, you can pretty much crash it into anyone and walk away with a slap on the wrist. So what if one or as many as 9 people died. Suspended sentence, if they can ever “find” you to prosecute. No kidding.

Tou** Shi*!

The Constitution was written to protect and defend the USA, first and foremost, NOT the entire world.

I no longer have a sympathy meter just a hostility meter and it's pegged!

Our Courts exist to protect and serve U.S. citizens.
Our elected legislature has the power to define and dictate what the Supreme Court may or may not hear or not hear.
If they did their job, instead of continued sedition, there would be no conflicts.

No other group or individuals may intrude into those powers unilaterally.
Nor have the standing ever to even try.

Not sure how we’re supposed to respond....I’m thinking that his status should have been checked and the scholarship awarded to an American. But that’s just me.

If he was applying for a job, his prospective employer would be required to complete an I-9 check to verify his right to work in this country. Too bad colleges THAT US GOVERNMENT MONEY TO FUND OPERATIONS are not required to do the same. Just a thought.

Are we supposed to break down in tears at this sob story? Tuff. He should never have gotten a scolarship. That kind of like saying that once a thief hauls your stuff out of your house it should belong to him

Lizandro Claros Saravia was supposed to be at college in North Carolina by now. At soccer practice. At the library.

No, he wasn't. He was here illegally. He was supposed to be where he is now, back in his own country.

He had a scholarship, but was deported

How are those two things related?

He had a scholarship? Good for him!

He was deported? Good for us!
