Its a story as old as civilizations passing away, history looping without end
First they came for the Confederate monuments, because they represented those who fought to maintain slavery.
Then they came for Confederate flags, because banning them would alleviate the hurt of slavery they represented.
Then they came for Confederate names on buildings, on schools and on streets. That which causes offense is not acceptable in our society.
Then they came for the history textbooks, which were revised to avoid causing pain to students confronted with the ugly past in their own country. How could the children endure this?
After a time, they

Can't get past the BS slavery crap.
after the last proponents\icons and history of slavers are erased, there is no proof slavery happened.
Over time, slavery will be erase.
First they came for the crosses......
Right. It’s not over when they take down all the Confederate monuments. They are going after: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Columbus Day, Mother’s day (they will rename it to “Parent A” Day), Father’s day, Valentine’s day, Easter, Independence Day and Veteran’s day. The Constitution is in their sights and they will not rest until they destroy it.
f*ck them!
A case can indeed be made for removal of confederate statues from public squares (not to be confused with historical parks), where their presence can be construed as an endorsement of slavery. Unfortunstely, once you give the left an inch, they’ll take a mile, and soon they will be going after George Washington, who never fought for slavery and freed his slaves in his will.
Only an ignorant fool would construe that.
Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder ?
... where their presence can be construed as an endorsement of slavery.
That having been asked, the statue removal protesters had every right to do what they did, and to oppose the war being waged on white prople.
Why suddenly are so many black Americans so hot to be identified as “former slaves”? If they just ignored all those statues and just went about the business of becoming doectors, lawyers, business people, military officers, entertainers... whatever... and just stopped obsessing about what everyone else forgot about ages ago (except as part of history class where it belongs), I certainly wouldn’t look at them as “former slaves”, and I believe almost nobody else would either.
But it seems they are AFRAID of losing their status as “former slaves”. Afraid of losing their long-cherished victimhood.
And BTW, something that NOBODY will ever mention publicly (although I am here):
Would they rather be living in Zambia right now? Or Zimbabwe? Or Burkina Faso? Seriously. Would they really rather their children be growing up there?
I am NOT saying slavery was a good thing, I am just asking a question. Would you rather — right now, today in 2017 — be a citizen of the United States or a citizen of Zimbabwe?
Seriously.
I mean it.
> Would you rather right now, today in 2017 be a citizen of the United States or a citizen of Zimbabwe?
Nobody will answer that question.
Don’t bother asking.
“We” need to get off of defense.
> I am NOT saying slavery was a good thing
Why bother stating this? They won’t listen.
All “they” are doing is being outrageous. “We” need to hit them with the same shit.
> revised to avoid causing pain
That is not why all the history erasure and other outrages.
It is because they are in a full on war, and “we” are not, yet. And because of sellout “leaders” who buy themselves (not our society’s) a little time by caving in. Fortunately that sort of person is the first to be shot when it all really gets going.
Senator Byrd
Right. Let’s get his name off of every bridge, road, building and monument it infests in West Virginia.
How is it not the same thing?
Yep.
Though his assassination was evil, Lincoln was indeed a tyrant.
Communism 101. Mao approved.
Slavs. Slaves. Whites.
No one is offering them reparations.
